Olympic Boycott: Day Nine

I didn't have to go out of my way to learn that Canada won three medals -- one in each metallic hue. If I hadn't heard about it on CP24 then I would have found out from my sister when I talked to her on the phone this afternoon. Actually, she was pissed off because the one day Canada won medals was the one day she didn't watch. *g* Anywaaaaay, while I wish that Canada had decided not to participate in the Olympics, I'm happy for the athletes in question. I know they work hard and I don't have any issues with them. I just don't like the politics of the host country, that's all. Oh, and I'm not exactly thrilled about the IOC pandering to the whims of said host country. I mean, what's the point of establishing rules if a host country can break them? I really don't understand and, fortunately, I don't have to.

we've got four now... we picked up a bronze in swimming. And of course, the first day that the newspapers couldn't whine about the medal drought, the Toronto Star leads with "Are medals worth the cost?" Wankers. (hey... another coincidence?)

No, I don't think it could possibly be a coincidence. It's a conspiracy. A conspiracy that's so complicated and twisted that I can't even guess at its meaning. Well, that and I appear to have used up today's quota of imagination. *g*
