The Advantages Of Commissioning Fic -- For Charitable Purposes, Of Course

As some of you may remember, I placed the winning bid for an Enola Jones ([livejournal.com profile] jennytork) story through the David Hewlett MSF Birthday Auction back in early April. The David Hewlett MSF Birthday Auction is an event that raises money for Doctors Without Borders/Medecins san Frontieres, David Hewlett's favourite charity. Anyway, I'm happy to say that Enola finished the story a couple of days ago and has now posted it on her LJ:

That's What Friends Do

For those of you who are curious, I asked Enola to write an SGA story (gen or slash) in which McKay gets whumped. Well, Enola followed my request and added just a little bit more: a poignant and moving ending that I hadn't been expecting at all. So paying someone to write a fic can be a very good thing, especially if the money is in support of such a worthy cause.
