>>>Daddy grabbed a machine gun and took the spider out<<<

Totally brilliant! So Lester!

Oh, thank you, [livejournal.com profile] pyrateanny! :-D I know we discussed my concern about whether this moment was actually funny, so I'm glad it seemed like Lester to you!

>>>"Walkies"<<<

LOL!!!

*Heaves another sigh of relief* I had the hardest time figuring out exactly how I wanted to end the story. Well, I basically knew where it would end, but I struggled with the dialogue. As recently as two days ago, I was changing the final line. Of course, five minutes later, I was changing it back again. *g* In any case, I'm glad you got a laugh out of "Walkies!" I've loved that word ever since I first heard it from Barbara Woodhouse. In fact, I subject my family to a lousy imitation of her whenever I play with my mom's cat. Minerva has a habit of grabbing one end of her toy (which is a tasslely thingie on a kind of fishing rod thingie) and walking off with it, towing me behind her.

Terrific conclusion to a wonderful serial, Rusty! I love the way you've tied up all the loose ends and put everything back to rights, but with subtle changes in the relationships between the characters because of the strange adventure they've just shared.

I'm very happy to hear that all of the loose ends seem to be tied up. After I finished writing this, I kept wondering if there was anything I'd forgotten... *g* I'm also glad that the subtle changes in the relationships between characters is something that's apparent. I was trying to show this in such a way that it didn't feel like I was hitting people over the head with it.

Thanks for your very kind words and all of your support, [livejournal.com profile] pyrateanny! :-D
