AWESOMEST Shower Curtain EVAH!!!

*Jumping up and down* Found the perfect shower curtain yesterday! My mom and I were in Sunrise Records and both gasped when we saw it. It was rather pricey for a shower curtain, but neither one of us could resist. My mom grabbed the first package and clutched it to her chest. As it was only one of two, I thought I'd better get the second one. There was a chance we'd be coming back (if HMV wasn't offering a better price on The White Queen), but I couldn't take the chance. What if someone came in the mean time and snatched it? Anywaaaaaaay, as my mom stayed with me last night (as it was our annual Mysteriously Yours outing), she was able to help me put it up this morning. When I said I would have to take pictures and post them on LJ, she basically said, "Well, yeah." Umm...apologies for the last photo. She insisted.

You're totally jealous. Admit it.

Observe the detail. The sign was what sold me.

She insisted. You'll notice that I wore my Reversed Polarity sweatshirt to celebrate.

Once the shower curtain was up, we oooooooohed and ahhhhhhhhhed some more. Whenever one of us went in the bathroom, we made sure to give a delighted shriek. I'm ashamed to say that I actually forgot about the shower curtain while we had lunch at The Duke of Kent, so my mom had to give a solo exclamation when we got back to my place. She told me that she could tell that I'd forgotten because I walked into the apartment in the way I normally would (e.g. when I owned an ordinary shower curtain). It should be interesting when she and my sister put up the other shower curtain. My mom wants it to be a surprise, so she's going to wait until my dad and brother are out of the house. She originally wanted to wait until everyone was out and then realized that she would probably need some help.

In case anyone is concerned, I'm using my old shower curtain as a liner, so my TARDIS shower curtain should stay fairly clean longer. My old shower curtain is more clothy than plasticy, so I'm able to throw it in a washing machine.

Does this mean that your shower is now bigger on the inside?

[identity profile] rusty-armour.livejournal.com 2014-03-02 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
*Nods eagerly* Oh, yes. I'm sure it is...or at least I've convinced myself that it is. ;-)

Wow!!

Just .....

WOW!!!

[identity profile] rusty-armour.livejournal.com 2014-03-02 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that was pretty much my reaction. *g*

[identity profile] fengirl88.livejournal.com 2014-03-02 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
that is indeed excellent! *gazes admiringly*

I'm not a Dr. Who fan, but that's still pretty awesome. :)

Oh, thank you! I'm glad you think it's awesome! I think it's the kind of thing that anyone with fandom love can appreciate! :-D

[identity profile] crimsoncorundum.livejournal.com 2014-03-03 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
You're right! This is really awesome! I wish I could find something like that - doesn't have to be a shower curtain though, could be anything TARDIS-like. :) You were really lucky to find them. I hope the rest of the family appreciates the other one just as much. Oh, and the last photo was fine. I wish I turned out as well in my photos...

You're right! This is really awesome!

Thank you very muchly, [livejournal.com profile] crimsoncorundum! I'm happy you like it! :-D

There's TONS of Doctor Who merchandise -- and many of that merchandise has a TARDIS shape or, at least, a TARDIS theme. There's everything from key chains to plush toys. There's also a wide range of prices, so there are definitely affordable options.

I hope the rest of the family appreciates the other one just as much.

I'm not sure about my sister (as she isn't a Doctor Who fan), but I think my dad and brother will definitely get a kick out of it. :-)

Oh, and the last photo was fine. I wish I turned out as well in my photos...

That's very kind of you. If the photo is fine then it's down to my mom because I'm usually not photogenic. *g*

AWESOME!!!
I now wonder if there's a library and swimming pool in your shower ;-)

[identity profile] rusty-armour.livejournal.com 2014-03-03 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL! That's what my mom wondered! So far I haven't found the library and swimming pool, but I think the shower might be bigger on the inside than the outside... *g*

That is a FANTASTIC shower curtain! ! x

Very cool! Now remember, when you hear the whooshing sound, your pipes are not on the verge of exploding. It's just your standard time machine shower curtain. LOL :)

[identity profile] rusty-armour.livejournal.com 2014-03-03 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooooooooh! I hadn't even considered the TARDIS whooshing sound! Thanks for the warning! I should definitely keep that in mind! ;-)

It's amazing that such a thing as a Tardis shower curtain exists! It looks really well made and it's great that it even has the sign. How could you resist? It's seriously cool.

It definitely took us by surprise! I mean, I've seen a lot of Doctor Who merchandise in my time, but a shower curtain? I still have trouble believing it and the damn thing is hanging in my bathroom! *g*

Yes, I think it is well made -- in terms of both design and manufacture. I just love all the details, such as the sign. I knew I'd regret it if I didn't pick it up. I'm glad you also think it's seriously cool. :-D

Yep, I'm jealous!

[identity profile] rusty-armour.livejournal.com 2014-03-04 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
If I were a better person, I'd feel guilty. *g* I'm glad you like it. :-)

Allons-y!

Jealous? You betcha.

[identity profile] rusty-armour.livejournal.com 2014-03-04 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't hate me because my shower curtain is beautiful. I had to fight it made no attempt to fight it every step of the way. *g*

[identity profile] njc2007.livejournal.com 2014-03-06 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Now you need Tardis bath towels. (I could never hate you...we're too much alike in our tastes.)

[identity profile] rusty-armour.livejournal.com 2014-03-06 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
My mom would be thrilled if I got TARDIS bath towels. She's determined that I buy a TARDIS soap dispenser. I almost did before I saw the shower curtain... *g*

I'm glad you could never hate me. You're so right about our tastes being too much alike for that to ever happen. :-D

[identity profile] njc2007.livejournal.com 2014-03-09 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Think Geek has TARDIS everything...just don't bother with the play structure/tent because it doesn't go together well. (I had originally planned to use it for my costume but donated it to some kids down the block.)

[identity profile] rusty-armour.livejournal.com 2014-03-10 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
Aaaaaarrrrrgggghhhh! Don't give me (or my mom) any ideas! *g* I'm sorry the structure/tent didn't work out, though your second choice of costume was perfect. :-D

That is soooo awesome :) As you can imagine, I adore it. Anthony and I recently got a new shower curtain but it's plain and nowhere near as awesome. Enjoy your transdimensional shower :)

I had a feeling you'd love it. :-)

I can sympathize. My old shower curtain was also rather plain and in no way resembled a TARDIS. There's a reason why it's now serving as a liner. *g*

Enjoy your transdimensional shower :)

Thank you muchly! I'm sure I will! :-D

That is killer! Looks fabulous! If I pee multiple times at your place next time I'm there you'll know why :)

Good idea to re-use the original as a liner.

Photograph of you looks good!

Well, better that than a medical condition that is causing you to make frequent trips to the bathroom...I'm sure you'll be blown away no matter how many times you, uh, visit the facilities. *g*

Good idea to re-use the original as a liner.

I wish I could take credit for that, but it was totally my mom's idea. :-)

Photograph of you looks good!

Good as in it's accurate? *g* Well, thank you very much. That's sweet of you to say. :-)

So, does hanging a TARDIS shower curtain make your shower/tub bigger inside than out? Because a dimensionally transcendental bathtub would be a plus.

Of course, I'm geeky enough to notice that it has the same typos that exist on the actual prop (multiple cars but only one officer will respond? and also changing the wording from "respond to urgent calls" to "all calls" that happened in the 1980s) but that it has the St. John's Ambulance logo but kept the blue window frame. But clearly I've spent far too much time on sites on the history of the prop.

That joke has already been covered. *g*

Oh, good. I'm glad I'm glad I've got the 1980s version as that's when I got into the show.

Wow, that is a terrific find! I'm glad there were two of them available, so that you didn't have to fight your mom for it! LOL

Yes, it was a wonderful surprise and a totally unexpected find! :-D

Yes, it might have got ugly if there had been only one... *g*
