Not Off to a Great Start -- Even By Monday Morning Standards

Today hasn't been great so far. I ended up eating a bowl of cereal with sour milk, found a cockroach in my bathroom, and was half an hour late for work because Toronto has finally received its first real snowfall.

I want to go home, despite the cockroach in the bathroom. I tried to make a deal with the cockroach. I've asked it if it could do one of the following before I return home tonight: go back down the drain, be in the sink so I can flush it down the drain, or hide somewhere I can't see it so I can pretend it's gone down the drain. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that it will still be exactly where I left it next time I walk into the bathroom...

I would have asked it to clean the apartment and have dinner on the table when I got home in addition to paying its share of the rent/mortgage. I mean, if it wants to move it, it has to pull its weight.

Dammit! Why didn't I think of that this morning? This is what happens when you have a brain that can't function before 10:00 am. Unfortunately, the cockroach appears to have honoured our bargain as it was gone when I got home. However, if it reappears, I'll be sure to remember your excellent advice.

Sometimes a little humour can help us cope with things. I hope my humour brought a small smile.

Oh, it was more than a little smile. I almost burst out laughing! *g*

I think laughter often is the best medicine. Thanks for sharing your own excellent sense of humour. :-)
