I NEVER Thought *This* Would Happen!

I NEVER thought this would happen, but three of my stories (A Private View, Buckingham & Shaftesbury: The Schemes and the Theatrics and The Boathouse (particularly The Boathouse)) were mentioned in an academic paper called Heritage Film Audiences 2.0: Period Film Audiences and Online Film Cultures. For anyone who's curious, the relevant material can be found in pages 36-37 of the pdf document. Some other very worthy works are also analyzed, including [livejournal.com profile] fengirl88's The Bad Old Songs (on pages 37-38 of the pdf document).

I have to confess that I howled when I read what Dr. Monk wrote about The Boathouse -- mostly due to sheer shock and joy and not because I disagreed with what she wrote. *g*

Well, it's about time someone recognized your talent. Congratulations.

Thank you very much, [livejournal.com profile] njc2007! :-D I think it's probably less about recognizing my talent (what little I possess) and more about the subject matter I chose to write about. However, I'm still thrilled that I was mentioned.

OMG! Squee! You got recognized by academia. How cool is that?

I KNOW! It's so surreal and bizarre! I'm still having trouble believing it!

Seriously, you have an amazing talent and it is wonderful that you've been called out for it. "The Boathouse" was a vivid enough piece of storytelling that it was compelling without my having any idea of the original material.

You're being much too kind, but thanks again! :-D I'm happy to hear that you were still able to enjoy "The Boathouse" without being familiar with the original source material. That's always wonderful to hear. :-D

Edited to add: Stop blushing. You know it's true. Just run with it.

LOL! I think you know me a little too well! *g* Okay, I'll accept your very generous compliment and run with it. :-D

I think, in this way at least, we are a little alike. (aka It takes one to know one.)
