I just logged in after watching "your" Doctor with the Cybermen. Perhaps he mailed the postcard before he left following the convention as it does have a Toronto postmark, near the Ashbridges Bay Wastewater Treatment Plant if Google can be trusted. I suspect that would be a convenient place to park the TARDIS.
