My extremely kind and thoughtful friend, [livejournal.com profile] pyrateanny, sent me a belated Christmas gift in the form of an AMAZING Valentine's Day present!

Admire the beautiful card [livejournal.com profile] pyrateanny made by
colouring in an engraving of Cupid from 1746!

Oh! OH! OH! Not only a graphic novel of The Hound of the Baskervilles,
but one you can colour in yourself, though, to be honest, I'm not sure if I have
the heart to do that! Look at the next image to see how pretty it is inside!

LOVE the artwork! Dover makes the BEST colouring books
(and, apparently, graphic novels that you can colour on your own).

Yes, this is, indeed, the back of the graphic novel/colouring book.
This book is so completely AWESOME that even the back must be
shown! Love the added detail of the pencil crayons, which reminds me:
[livejournal.com profile] pyrateanny also gave me a fabulous set of pencil crayons. I
guess I really don't have any excuse not to colour inside the book.

It's funny how family and friends keep giving me Holmesian presents. It's as if they think
I'm into Sherlock Holmes or something. I don't know how they got that impression... *g*

I can't imagine how they would have ever gotten that impression!

Dover makes some awesome stuff! I've used some of their clip art books.

I'm glad I don't have to decide to colour or not to colour. What a beautiful gift!

Yes, you need to disabuse people of the idea that you actually like Sherlock Holmes!

These are great presents.[livejournal.com profile] pyrateanny coloured in the engraving beautifully. I wouldn't colour in the graphic novel because I know I'd make a mess of it!

I KNOW! It's crazy the way people make these kinds of assumptions for no apparent reason.

Oh, cool! I didn't know that! Well, you obviously know of what you speak, then. I'm glad Dover has been a useful source. :-)

I'm glad I don't have to decide to colour or not to colour. What a beautiful gift!

I'm still torn. I showed the book to my mom today and she was strongly encouraging me to colour it in. In fact, she offered to lend me her water colour pencil crayons, not that I need them with a wonderful new set of my own. Anywaaaaay, the book is sitting in my Sherlockiana section at the moment, but the graphic novel/colouring book muse might strike and I'll be forced to answer her siren call. *g*

I think you may be right. People pick up the strangest ideas sometimes. Imagine anyone thinking that I like Sherlock Holmes. It's too insane for words.

These are great presents. [livejournal.com profile] pyrateanny coloured in the engraving beautifully.

I'm glad you like these presents and agree that [livejournal.com profile] pyrateanny did a beautiful job of colouring in that engraving. I'm happy to say that she's been taking on more artistic projects lately. She's definitely multi-talented. Her creations are always wonderful, no matter what the medium! :-)

I wouldn't colour in the graphic novel because I know I'd make a mess of it!

That's actually one of my fears! I don't think it will look as nice once I do colour in the images -- and I say this as someone who used to sketch and use pencil crayons all the time!

Ah, so cool. Hound of the Baskervilles. The one read when I was young (because my dad studied it as part of the his English BA we had it lying around the house, I was more into ACD's Lost World stories).

I can understand why dinosaurs might have been more appealing than a hound, even a gigantic one that glowed. *g* I have to confess that I've only read the first novel in the Lost World series. I think I own at least three non-Sherlock Holmes books by ACD and I keep meaning to read them.
