There are plenty of crows in this town, but I usually see one at a time. Also, to my chagrin, they're completely uninterested in me, unlike magpies and jackdaws, who always check to see if I have something for them.
I'm not sure how many crows there are in Toronto. It may simply be that I'm not usually in the right areas to see them. Usually, I see grackles rather than crows. Sadly, we don't have either magpies or jackdaws here, but I think it's great that they're always interested to see whether you have something for them. :-)
I'll keep my fingers crossed that you can get back to writing soon. (I hope I can too. I really need to finish the book I'm working on and get to work on the others I want to finish this year).
I have actually been doing okay with the writing lately (by my lax standards). It just wasn't happening yesterday. Probably because my hormones were out of whack. *g* Hope you get back to your own writing soon and can finish the book you're working on. :-)
