Confession Meme
Aug. 11th, 2007 10:56 pmAlthough this isn't actually meant to be a "confession meme," I seem to have done just that! If you want to point the finger at someone then look no further than
Ze Meme
a. List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
b. Tag seven people to do the same.
c. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag whoever wants to do it.
1. I was supposed to be born on Hitler's birthday, but hung around in the womb for an extra ten days and ended up being born on his alleged suicide day instead. When my sister came along, she was born on Hitler's birthday. I'm not sure when she was originally due.
2. The first thing I wanted to be was a painter. I used to draw and paint like crazy when I was a kid. I absolutely loved it.
3. The first word I ever read (to the best of my knowledge) was "exit". I think I was about four at the time and I was out somewhere with my dad. As we were walking down a hallway, I surprised him by pointing to a rectangular sign above a door and saying, "Exit". Of course, I think this was less about reading and more about recognition. Probably any other little kid who watched Sesame Street could have done the exact same thing. Still, it impressed the hell out of my dad!
4. I went through a phase in kindergarten where I stopped talking. Completely. At school and at home. My parents ended up taking me to a child psychologist to fix the problem. They've regretted it ever since⦠*g*
5. My brother and I both broke our legs when we were nine.
6. I used to secretly fear that I was bipolar because I'd have these radical mood swings. Then I realized it was PMS.
7. I believe in ghosts, though I'm not sure if I believe in a higher power.
Okay, I don't expect all of you to participate, but I tag
Have fun!

Oh, and with a slight spelling variation, the Welsh word for exit appears to be my name.

Date: 2007-08-13 04:48 pm (UTC)You could claim that the made up weird random things were the truth. How would anyone know? Well, they might suspect you were fibbing if the facts were a little too weird. *g*

No, I don't draw or paint anymore, though I sometimes think about getting into it again. I think I basically stopped because writing took over as my main interest.

Okay, that's weird and interesting...You should add it to your list! *g*

Date: 2007-08-14 07:27 pm (UTC)I probably stopped drawing for good towards the end of high school and the beginning of university. In fact, now that I think of it, an increased work load may have also had something to do with me giving it up.
I used to draw a lot when I was a kid too, but I never learned the craft. I always think about learning how to. Mainly to do indie comics -- I know a few writers who did that, and then got more assignments for their art than writing.
You should try taking an art class. I'm sure there must be lots around. I took art classes as a kid, as well as art in junior high and high school. I'd say that I did learn something of the craft, but I'm not what you'd call talented -- in any sense of the word. *g*
Really, the two things I'd like to have more talent in is drawing and playing music (the fiddle, if I were to follow the old family tradition).
I regret not learning to play an instrument as well. Well, I used to be able to play a bit on the recorder and the clarinet, but my skills were...non-existent. I've always been better at singing than playing an instrument, which doesn't surprise me because my parents both have pretty good voices. Of course, they both played instruments (piano for my dad and violin for my mom), so obviously the apple fell kind of far from the tree and then rolled a bit. *g*

Yes, I still have to check out your answers. *Looks at the clock* I think I might just have time to do that.
