Title: Buckingham & Shaftesbury: The Schemes and the Theatrics
Author: Rusty Armour
Fandom: Charles II: The Power and the Passion
Pairing: Buckingham/Shaftesbury
Category: Parody, Slash
Rating: NC-17
Warning: Contains shameless puns, innuendoes, and references to sheep.
Word Count: 5,019
Summary: Buckingham and Shaftesbury attempt another grand scheme with surprising and unexpected results.
Notes: This fic came about for one simple reason: [livejournal.com profile] grassle asked me to write a parody of Charles II: The Power and the Passion. I was initially going to say no because I wasn’t even sure where I’d begin. Then the Restoration!parody muse magically appeared and I was helpless to resist her. *g* For those of you who may not be familiar with Charles II: The Power and the Passion, there’s a strong Sherlock connection as Rupert Graves plays Buckingham and Martin Freeman plays Shaftesbury.

I’d like to give tremendous thanks to [livejournal.com profile] grassle, who not only suggested this parody in the first place, but acted as my beta and Britpicker, zeroing in on trouble areas and offering excellent advice. She even gave me a joke that I ended up using in the story. :-)

Disclaimer: I don’t own any of these characters. They belong to Adrian Hodges and history. Even if they were up for grabs, I couldn’t possibly keep them in the manner to which they are accustomed.
