Did you know "chesterfield" is also an anglicism in Montreal's West Island? My mother only ever referred to it as such in our house. But instead, it's called Le Chesterfield. She even nixed the stray cat we took in, when he started defacing "Le" Chesterfield. Of course, the reverse of that today is that my own quadriped is ruining my antiques, but I digress! I'm totally with you on shameless promotion of all things quirky Canadian, and I even know Scarborough quite well as of late. It's responsible for a lot of my road rage actually.
