O beautiful bus shelter all shiny and new!
When I first set eyes on you, my joy blossomed and grew,
For I knew beyond the tiniest doubt
That my luck had changed and there was gladness throughout.
Although the ground was covered in a layer of snow
And the cold, cruel blasts of winter had started to blow,
I could withstand the elements in my harbour of glass.
The wind chill was less brutal and biting and brash.
But if you were to ask me what most did please,
It would be that my cheeks weren't burned and my tits didn't freeze.

The poem is good. I especially like that your "tits didn't freeze".

Bravo

LOL!
I guess winter in suburbia will be just a tad more civilized now!

You're up there with McGonagall in terms of quality of rhyme, rhythm and exqisiteness of sentiment!

Quote: McGonagall's works remain in print long after many of his more skillful contemporaries have been consigned to history

... so now see what you can aspire to!

I think it's brillant!

Hee! You should submit it to some Canadian small press! It definitely has a universal theme! I personally really like "my harbour of glass." I'd vote for it to appear on the TTC excerpts!

Thank you very much! :-) As frozen tits have definitely been an issue in the past when standing at that bus stop, I knew I had to work in a line about it somehow. *g*

LOL! As my Aunty A would say, "Oh, go on with you!"

Well, I'm glad you enjoyed the poem and I can say this much: it does rhyme. However, I think if you scan the lines, you'll find the rhythm isn't exquisite, or even consistent, in terms of metre, etc. I'm pretty sure it's not a proper ode, though it's been so long since I studied odes that I probably wouldn't know one if I came across it in a bus shelter. *g*

LOL! I think a Canadian small press would probably politely decline despite its universal theme. However, it might just work for a TTC excerpt. ;-) Well, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I have to confess that I consulted a thesaurus to come up with "harbour" in "my harbour of glass" line. I had already used the word shelter and needed a fitting synonym that would allow me to maintain the "quality of rhyme, rhythm and exquisiteness of sentiment" that [livejournal.com profile] grondfic mentioned in her comment. *g*

Perhaps you might want to add a microwavable "heated bra" to your Xmas wish list:

:-)haha, I like it. Well done, I'm glad you got your shelter. You may need those tits one day, you don't want them to freeze off :-D

LOL! That's awesome! I could stick the bra in the microwave before I leave work and be nice and toasty until the bus arrives! :-)

Thank you kindly! :-) As you can probably tell, I was very happy to finally see a shelter. And, yes, you never know when one or both tits could come in useful. I mean, I try to look after the girls whether they're useful or not, of course, but warm tits are happy (pain-free) tits. *g*

You'll probably find this really hard to believe, but you're not the first person to tell me that I'm strange. *g* Well, I'm glad you enjoyed my very bizarre poem. :-)
