It turns out that one damaged roll of film was salvageable after all, and about 18 pictures turned out okay. I had assumed that they were a loss because this batch didn't come in at the same time as the others. I guess they needed more time at the developers because of the damage. Anyhoo, I've placed 15 of them in the photo album if anyone is interested:

Does anyone else find it scary that I've posted at my LJ three times this week? That's got to be a record for me.

Love the Lost Pics! Thanks for sharing :) I didn't notice this last time, but your picture, "erectheion1" caught the porch of the virgins! How awesome! I actually thought up of a question for you. When you went to Delphi, did the tour guide (or anybody else) give any information about how the pythia (the oracle lady) would go into a trance before she gave out the prophecy? I always learned that she took hallucinogens but then there was a discovery that there was a pit of a gaseous (hallucinogenic) chemical right beneath where she would pronounce the oracles and so that was how she went into a trance. Just curious if they mentioned anything about that.

I'm glad you enjoyed the Lost Pics. I thought that people might be sick of my vacation photos by now. *g* Yes, that would be the porch of the virgins. In fact, I think I must have at least four or five pictures of that -- possibly because it had fewer tourists surrounding it than the heavily-scaffolded Parthenon.

I read about the pythia before the trip and the tour guide spoke about her. In both cases, I heard that she went into a trance due to the gases she would have inhaled. Then she would start muttering things that the priests would "interpret". My tour guide argued that it was really the priests who made the prophecies as they were the ones to interpret what the pythia said in her trance (e.g. They made the interpretations they believed in themselves).
