As I'm not really going to have a chance to be online much for the next couple of days, I thought I'd better post an entry now. The MSF/DWB Charity Auction starts on March 20th and goes until April 3rd. There will be a number of fandom-related items on the auction block (and not just for Stargate Atlantis and Stargate SG-1), including fic and fan art. The auction will be conducted on 121bid.com, though it's probably best to visit the MSF/DWB Charity Auction website or
I'm not able to donate a story myself this year, though I am offering the following item:
MSF46 - A Stargate SG-1 100-page special edition of the Official Stargate SG1/Atlantis magazine
I'm also offering the following clip from Armstrong & Miller to get people in the charity spirit:
On second thoughts, it might be better to search for the charity spirit from within... *g*

Heee!
MSF46 - A Stargate SG-1 100-page special edition
I kept reading that as 1100-page special edition, and thinking, holy cow, biggggg! I shall check out the auction items, although really the last thing I need is more stuff...

LOL! When no one responded to this post, I thought maybe the Armstrong & Miller vid had offended people! *g* I love the WWII RAF Pilots. I think they're the most popular series of sketches that have come out of Armstrong & Miller. However, saying that, it's probably better to find the charity spirit from within. The RAF Pilots are not exactly an ideal moral compass...for anyone. ;-)

LOL! If it were 1100 pages, I'd be expecting more than £2 for it. I would hope I could get at least £3 or £4. *g* Anywaaaaay, I recommend checking out the auction. Unfortunately, there are only four stories available this year and I've been outbid on two of them. However, I was happy this happened because it means more money will be coming in. I've been a bit worried because the auction has been kind of sluggish. There are a number of items that no one has bid on, so I hope some of these items are claimed, especially the artwork.

Date: 2010-03-28 10:27 pm (UTC)Hee! I don't think so! Particularly funny I think with all the focus on charity lately.
Personally, it's been a combination of things for me. I've been much better at leaving work (I've been aiming for six and mostly making it), but that means being more focused during the time I'm there as the work hasn't gone away. The co-op also consumed a fair bit of my time as we put out the newsletter last week. Mostly, it's been the writing. The big story is still kicking my ass!
How's the writing going for you?

You're probably right about the vid. Most people on my flist have a really good sense of humour, so I don't think they'd be offended. I'm glad you think it's appropriate. I also thought it would be funny given all the spotlight that has been placed on charity lately. :-)

I assumed that, if nothing else, your big story would be taking up a lot of time. Then, of course, there's work and the co-op. In any case, I knew you were busy with one or all of the above.
I'm sorry your big story has been kicking your ass, though I bet you're doing a much better job of handling the word count and deadline than I would be if I were in your place! And, from what you've told me, you seem to be pretty disciplined when it comes to sticking to a writing schedule.

Uh...could be better, but could also be worse. I just had two characters take a scene where I wasn't expecting it to go. I'm not sure if it's going to work or not. I'm letting it play out for now. If it doesn't work out then I'll just go back to the point where it took that turn and try again. Other than the scene in question, I think my current (and last) fic is going fairly well. I'm not as far along as I would like to be at this point, but that's the case with almost every story I write. *g*
