That seems like a damn fine use of $6.50 to me too!
Thank you! Considering that we basically receive a historical lecture on board, I'm sure they could have charged more. However, that might be confusing as the $6.50 covers a round trip on any ferry. A number of people chose to stay on Centre Island, while some people who had been on Centre Island decided to board the Trillium. Imagine if you assumed you were travelling on a standard ferry, only to learn that it was a 100-year-old paddle steamboat! How cool would that be? *g*
You got some terrific photographs!
Well, I also got some not-so-great photographs, but, then, that's the great thing about digital cameras. You can take as many crappy pictures as you want as long as you have the space for them. In any case, I just posted the nicer ones.
I have a vague sense I should know what things are called, but... Nope, no idea.
LOL! Well, you'll notice that I didn't choose to label anything, so that should give you some indication of how knowledgeable I am on the subject! *g*
I like the two funnel-like things, and the photograph of the photograph of the launch party is extremely awesome. I keep looking for the film crew in the background.
Because I suck at ship terminology, I'm not sure what those funnel-like things are called. This will sound crazy, but maybe they're called...funnels. *g* I noticed that "SHUT" and "OPEN" are written on that tall cylindrical thingie, so I'm wondering if it has something to do with the steam being generated. As for the photograph of the launch party, I had to find a way to capture it as soon as I saw it. I've always found old photographs fascinating and this one really appealed to me.
I hope the chili turned out yummy!
It was pretty good! Thanks for asking! :-) I'm hoping to spread it out over three more nights. I tried to do enough grocery shopping today to cover two weeks, so chili seemed like a great option as it would cover three or four nights. My mom is staying with me next weekend as it's time for our annual trip to the EX. *Looks around the apartment warily* Good thing I downloaded all that podfic. I seriously need to clean! *g*
Thanks for advertising the Dreamwidth codes! It is really easy to cross-post to both LJ and Dreamwidth, but unless you have a flist that is migrating a lot of people probably don't see the point.
I know a lot of people were flocking to Dreamwidth when there was that scare about LiveJournal removing accounts, etc. And I could understand going with Dreamwidth instead of LJ. However, as you say, there probably isn't much point unless you've got a fair number of people on your flist following Dreamwidth. Well, you never know. There might be someone who's interested.
