So, tonight's lesson is don't record a message on one of those recordable birthday cards when it's the first full day of your period and you're seriously hormonal. I mean, I managed to record the message in the end, but I had to cut open the back of the card to find the little tab I didn't manage to rip off successfully the first time. Yeah, a case of classic [livejournal.com profile] rusty_armour ingenuity...NOT!

Well, it actually works out in a way. The card has this whole Mission Impossible theme going on. In fact, the birthday message I recorded for my uncle (or, rather, Man That's U.N.C.L.E.) claims that the card will self-destruct (if placed near an open flame), so that hole in the back could add some unintentional humour if I write a note saying that the hole isn't the card self-destructing but NIECE trying to get the card to work. *g*

Poor Man That's U.N.C.L.E. Thankfully, he's got other nieces to make up for this one.

Yeah, okay. I'll help you test your inbox. You're a LOSER. How's that?

I think your uncle's lucky to get such an unusual card. I'm sure his other nieces won't send him anything like it.

Awww, that sorta thing happens to me a lot too! Glad you got it sorted in the end though. Also, I adore both the Mission:Impossible series and The Man from UNCLE series too. Love those TV shows, so the references made me smile big time :)

*snickers* Confounded technology. Sure it seems a good idea at the time. :)

Well, you're probably right about his other nieces not being strange enough to send him such an unusual card... *g* Oh, I know he'll like it. He's got a good sense of humour and my weird antics usually amuse him.

Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] grondfic! :-) He really liked the musical card I sent him last year (which included a clip of me singing part of "Happy Birthday"), so he'll probably get a kick out of this as well.

Yes, "confounded technology" is right! And it did seem like a good idea at the time! *g* Well, despite the, uh, hole in the back of the card, it kind of basically worked out in the end. Sort of.

She was obviously feeling a little hormonal herself last night. *g*

I'm sure he'll be thrilled by the card AND his wonderful niece! *hugs*

*Hugs in return* Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] anitamaid. I'm sure he'll like his card too. :-)

Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] funkyinfishnet. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who has these kinds of experiences. :-)

Also, I adore both the Mission:Impossible series and The Man from UNCLE series too. Love those TV shows, so the references made me smile big time :)

I have to admit that I'm not as familiar with Mission: Impossible and that I'm more of a Man From U.N.C.L.E. girl. However, Mission: Impossible is so much a part of popular culture that everyone at least recognizes aspects of it. Anyway, I'm glad the references made you smile. :-)

Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] alysscarlet! :-) Most of the excellence and wit comes from the card manufacturers themselves (despite that stupid tab), but maybe my, uh, strange finishing touches will enhance the card...or, at least, make it more interesting. *g*

Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] tazzles. I'm glad you think so. With any luck, my uncle will appreciate the idea as well. :-)
