I managed to lose my favourite ring today while having lunch out with three friends. I was hoping the ring had simply slipped off my finger when I was rummaging through my bag (as that has happened with another ring before), but I've seen no sign of it. I called the restaurant to ask them to keep an eye out for it. However, I have a feeling that it's long gone. :-( What's really infuriating is that I only had it for a month. It was this beautiful Celtic ring that I picked up at the British Isles Show and I just loved it.

Oh that sucks, I hate losing things :(

Maybe you can find something simlar online?

A British Isles show?.....why don't we have cool stuff like that? ;p

sorry to hear about this - I hope it turns up, though I know that's unlikely.

Yeah, it's frustrating as hell.

Actually, I'm lucky there in that the ring was a St Justin (http://www.stjustin.co.uk) product. However, I can't find my particular ring on the website. The ones I do see are much nicer and more expensive. Come to think of it, I'm not 100% sure if it was a St Justin product. It may have just been displayed in that one booth along with the items that were from there...

LOL! Like you need one! *g* The website is terrible, but it might give you some idea of what the show is like (http://www.britishislesshowcanada.com/Exhibitors.html). I'll admit that it's pretty cheesy, but it's fun if you're an Anglophile or an expat Brit.

I'm trying to accept that it's gone because I think it's pretty unlikely that it will turn up. However, there are worse things I could have lost or worse things that could have happened, so I should probably count my blessings. :-)

Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] avictoriangirl. I hope I find it too, but I'm trying to accept the idea that it's probably gone in case it doesn't turn up. As I said to [livejournal.com profile] fengirl88, I could have lost something more valuable or had something worse befall me, so I should be grateful that I only lost a ring. ;-)

Sorry about the ring. But I'll cross my fingers it shows up. Stranger things have happened. But at least you were out enjoying it by wearing it.

Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] lazigyrl. I appreciate you crossing your fingers for me. :-) As you say, stranger things have happened, so maybe the ring will turn up again. However, I don't want to get my hopes up, so I'm being extremely cautiously optimistic. *g*

I hadn't thought of it before, but you're right about the advantage of enjoying the ring when I lost it. It definitely would have been worse if I'd lost it before having a chance to wear it. While I still had it, I enjoyed it very much. :-)

I'm sorry. :( I hope it will turn up again. If not, could you get one just the same?

Oh, noes! I know how attached I am to my couple of Celtis pieces although they're nothing fancy. I wish people were more honest, but I doubt you'll get it back. Sorry!

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear you lost such a special ring :( I really hope you find it again or that you are able to find one that you like just as much. I used to lose rings constantly cos my fingers so skinny. Now, I only wear one that belonged to my Granny and my wedding & engagement rings, they're the only ones that have ever stayed on long-term!

Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] crimsoncorundum. :-) Unfortunately, I don't think it's likely to turn up again. I did look on the St Justin (http://www.stjustin.co.uk) website, but I couldn't find my ring there. To be honest, I'm not sure if I've even got the right product page as it's possible the jewellery booth was just displaying my ring with the St Justin products. Oh, well. There are worse things to lose than a ring.

It sounds like we have similar taste in jewellery, [livejournal.com profile] karen9. :-) I'm pretty sure you're right and that I won't get the ring back. However, I'll live. I'll just have to find another Celtic piece to replace it. *g*

That's terrible! I hope that it's either retrieved or that you can maybe find a new similar ring.

Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] funkyinfishnet. :-) I think I'll have to settle for finding a replacement, which shouldn't be an impossible task.

I used to lose rings constantly cos my fingers so skinny. Now, I only wear one that belonged to my Granny and my wedding & engagement rings, they're the only ones that have ever stayed on long-term!

That's a pain. I'm glad your most important rings have stayed long-term. :-) I wouldn't say I have skinny fingers, though I have small hands so I suppose my fingers aren't huge. I know I was trying on some of the smallest rings at that booth, so maybe they're thinner than I realized. Before I lost weight, they were definitely fatter. My mom used to refer to them as cocktail weiners because they were so stubby. *g*

Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] radiogaga80. :-) I have a horrible feeling that it won't be found. However, I'm sure I'll find a similar ring that I'll grow to love. I just have to make sure not to lose it as well! *g*

That really sucks. I know, cuz I lost my engagement ring last summer, and still cannot find it. And, no I did not throw it away during an argument, as my SO is sometimes so fond of claiming. 'grimaces' I had lost weight, and none of my rings fit.

I do hope that you can find yours.

Oh, OUCH! Losing an engagement ring has to be about 200 times worse! I'm sorry you lost yours and still haven't found it! :-(

I wish I could blame weight loss for my missing ring, but I bought it after I had become thinner. *g* Well, I hope your own ring turns up again some day. Thanks for the good wishes, [livejournal.com profile] lazy_8s. :-)

That's so unfortunate. Especially considering you haven't had it for long.

Fingers crossed it'll turn up somewhere.

Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] tazzles. I haven't heard back from the restaurant or found any sign of it myself, so I'm pretty sure it's long gone. Oh, well. It was nice while it lasted and there are certainly worse items to lose. Besides, it can be replaced by another ring in time. I just have to make damn sure not to lose the replacement. *g*
