Lost My Favourite Ring
May. 15th, 2011 05:29 pmI managed to lose my favourite ring today while having lunch out with three friends. I was hoping the ring had simply slipped off my finger when I was rummaging through my bag (as that has happened with another ring before), but I've seen no sign of it. I called the restaurant to ask them to keep an eye out for it. However, I have a feeling that it's long gone. :-( What's really infuriating is that I only had it for a month. It was this beautiful Celtic ring that I picked up at the British Isles Show and I just loved it.

Actually, I'm lucky there in that the ring was a St Justin (http://www.stjustin.co.uk) product. However, I can't find my particular ring on the website. The ones I do see are much nicer and more expensive. Come to think of it, I'm not 100% sure if it was a St Justin product. It may have just been displayed in that one booth along with the items that were from there...

LOL! Like you need one! *g* The website is terrible, but it might give you some idea of what the show is like (http://www.britishislesshowcanada.com/Exhibitors.html). I'll admit that it's pretty cheesy, but it's fun if you're an Anglophile or an expat Brit.

Date: 2011-05-16 12:15 am (UTC)I hadn't thought of it before, but you're right about the advantage of enjoying the ring when I lost it. It definitely would have been worse if I'd lost it before having a chance to wear it. While I still had it, I enjoyed it very much. :-)

Date: 2011-05-16 04:52 pm (UTC)Thanks,
I used to lose rings constantly cos my fingers so skinny. Now, I only wear one that belonged to my Granny and my wedding & engagement rings, they're the only ones that have ever stayed on long-term!
That's a pain. I'm glad your most important rings have stayed long-term. :-) I wouldn't say I have skinny fingers, though I have small hands so I suppose my fingers aren't huge. I know I was trying on some of the smallest rings at that booth, so maybe they're thinner than I realized. Before I lost weight, they were definitely fatter. My mom used to refer to them as cocktail weiners because they were so stubby. *g*

Date: 2011-05-16 08:48 pm (UTC)That really sucks. I know, cuz I lost my engagement ring last summer, and still cannot find it. And, no I did not throw it away during an argument, as my SO is sometimes so fond of claiming. 'grimaces' I had lost weight, and none of my rings fit.
I do hope that you can find yours.

Date: 2011-05-17 01:10 am (UTC)I wish I could blame weight loss for my missing ring, but I bought it after I had become thinner. *g* Well, I hope your own ring turns up again some day. Thanks for the good wishes,
