I have to thank my brother for introducing me to this little gem from The Asylum. I can't remember where he first heard about the movie, but we had fun speculating on what the premise might be. Then we wondered what the film would be like if James Cameron directed it. My brother came up with the best idea when he suggested having the Terminator on the Titanic. I agreed as I'd much rather be taken out by the Terminator than drown or die of hypothermia. Anywaaaaaay, here's the trailer for Titanic II -- for anyone with time (or brain cells) to kill:

Thankfully, I was able to erase most of that from my memory after finding some clips of The Poseidon Adventure on YouTube. Now, that's a disaster film. I woke up in a cold sweat around 2:00 in the morning after watching it the second time. Why someone with a phobia of drowning would ever watch this film is beyond me, but, then, I'm kind of an idiot. *g*

Titanic II can be seen on YouTube. I'm both tempted and scared, so it's anyone's guess which emotion will win out...Uh, the first part of the movie can be found here. If we're lucky, it might also feature a dinosaur.

One of my favorite movies is "Das Boot" (English: The Boat). I sat through the full tv-series in one long session and really heard everything crack and squeak after that. I might take you up on your offer to watch Titanic II on youtube but I'd have to be *really* bored as I dislike disaster movies in general. But I'll keep you posted! :)

I remember one sci-fi writer back in 1997 joking about a Titanic II where the DiCaprio character is rescued and kept alive by being turned into a cyborg. The premise being that because it had the Titanic brand name, the action-obsessed boys could market this blood-and-guts film as a date movie.

My own choice for a crazy movie follow-up, or more specifically a crazy movie follow-up that some executive could propose, was Bicycle Thieves II.

First, the classic of Italian neo-realism cinema:

And I saw a sequel picking up 20 years later. Antonio Ricci lost his job and had turned to a life of crime and was sent to prison. His son Bruno, disillusioned by his father, had grown up to be a cop. The main action picks up when Antonio is released from prison and goes on a bicycle-themed serial killing spree, and his son has to track him down. (The joke here being that something this hackneyed is 180 degrees as way from the masterpiece original. It's just one of those films that should never have a sequel.)

ok I have to hold my hands up and say I hve actually watched Titanic 2!!!

I watched it a few months ago on sat tv. It was sooooooooo bad that I had to watch the whole thing! I think I gave it 2/10. However-I wouldn't put you off watching it-some things are so bad they have to be seen :)

Please let me know if you do decide to take the, uh, plunge. *g* I don't know when (or if) I'll get around to watching this. Maybe one day, I'll be so overwhelmed by curiosity that I'll have to watch it.

I don't know. I think you might really have something here. You should totally develop the script. If you can't get one of the bigger studios to take it then go to The Asylum (http://www.theasylum.cc/). If you can squeeze a dinosaur into the script then I'm sure they'd snap it up. Actually, you probably wouldn't even have to do that. Whoever directs the film would just add one when the time comes.

Oh, believe me, I understand. I've also watched movies that were sooooooooo bad they were hypnoptic and I couldn't pull away. The Asylum's Sherlock Holmes (http://www.theasylum.cc/product.php?id=164) was such a film. The only good thing about it was Gareth David-Lloyd. However, as it was so thoroughly BAD, I probably would have continued watching it without him. *g*
