Happy 2007! I snatched this from [livejournal.com profile] tazzles and made the following New Year's resolutions:

In 2007, rusty_armour resolves to...
Start a jag fund.
Keep my sci-fi clean.
Volunteer to spend time with britcoms.
Become a better fanfic.
Take evening classes in enterprise.
Overcome my secret fear of dvds.

I also made a couple of other resolutions that didn't make it on to this cool little form. First of all, I would like to make an effort to do more writing. I know some of you are probably rolling your eyes and thinking that surely the world experiences enough suffering as it is. Well, I'm selfish and, really, what's a little bit more when there's so much of it already. Second of all, I'm going to try to be less sensitive and not let things get to me. Unfortunately, I've already broken that rule, so the situation doesn't look good for the rest of 2007. In my defence, I've got PMS and I'm at a disadvantage. Third of all...No, I don't think I'll share that one because I'm going to have a hard enough time keeping it and I don't want to jinx myself...

Hey, I know! How about we focus on my resolutions for 2006? I was much better at keeping those. For example, I resolved to take control of some of my health issues and, like, totally did that. I finally got myself a doctor and, following her advice, I re-evaluated some of my lifestyle choices (e.g. went on a diet) and lost (as one co-worker described it) a ton of weight. Of course, I'm in serious jeopardy of gaining it all back with my New Year's Eve leftovers and all the eating I did over the holidays. However, at one point I was feeling much healthier and I was in much better shape. So, hey! Yay for 2006!

You know what? Resolutions are boring. Let's talk about something else like...Christmas presents! As I already told [livejournal.com profile] espirk, I was lucky enough to receive an MP3 Player for Christmas, which is, like, one of the coolest toys ever! Oh, and for those of you who were wondering, I also received the Superman II: Richard Donner Cut DVD and it totally kicks a$$! I have to admit that those were the big highlights, but I appreciated all my gifts. Honestly, family and friends. I really mean it.

Okay, here's a really good resolution. I'm going to make an effort not to stick my foot in my mouth five or six times a day. It might take some time, but I think I could wean myself of the habit. Or at least cut back. Maybe.

Umm...could someone do a new edit of my life and have Christopher Reeve fly around the world and turn back time? I'm sure I could do better if I got a second chance at this whole New Year's thing.
