I NEVER Thought *This* Would Happen!

I NEVER thought this would happen, but three of my stories (A Private View, Buckingham & Shaftesbury: The Schemes and the Theatrics and The Boathouse (particularly The Boathouse)) were mentioned in an academic paper called Heritage Film Audiences 2.0: Period Film Audiences and Online Film Cultures. For anyone who's curious, the relevant material can be found in pages 36-37 of the pdf document. Some other very worthy works are also analyzed, including [livejournal.com profile] fengirl88's The Bad Old Songs (on pages 37-38 of the pdf document).

I have to confess that I howled when I read what Dr. Monk wrote about The Boathouse -- mostly due to sheer shock and joy and not because I disagreed with what she wrote. *g*

Congratulations! Recognition in an academic paper is amazing. You deserve it.

That's an extremely kind thing to say! Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] karen9! :-D I'm not sure if I deserve it, but I'm very grateful to have been mentioned!

I've just skipped through the article to the relevant parts because my brain's not up to reading anything academic right now, but I'll try to read it more critically soon.

I've only made it as far as page three because I just haven't had time to read more. However, I'm hoping to make some more progress tonight. Apparently, Dr. Monk is hoping to receive some feedback, so I'm going to send her a message when I've finished reading the paper. If you end up reading the paper yourself and feel like leaving some feedback yourself, you can find Dr. Monk's email address near the end of the paper.
