I NEVER thought this would happen, but three of my stories (A Private View, Buckingham & Shaftesbury: The Schemes and the Theatrics and The Boathouse (particularly The Boathouse)) were mentioned in an academic paper called Heritage Film Audiences 2.0: Period Film Audiences and Online Film Cultures. For anyone who's curious, the relevant material can be found in pages 36-37 of the pdf document. Some other very worthy works are also analyzed, including

I have to confess that I howled when I read what Dr. Monk wrote about The Boathouse -- mostly due to sheer shock and joy and not because I disagreed with what she wrote. *g*

he’d ever seen’ – ‘Alec, the pastor was blind’
*applauds you and squees*

Seriously, you have an amazing talent and it is wonderful that you've been called out for it. "The Boathouse" was a vivid enough piece of storytelling that it was compelling without my having any idea of the original material.
Edited to add: Stop blushing. You know it's true. Just run with it.

Date: 2012-01-19 12:59 am (UTC)Sorry I haven't commented on any of your Sherlock reviews. I've been avoiding spoilers. I still haven't managed to watch any of the episodes yet. My cold came back and I've just been dragging myself to work and back. I will never be well again! Okay, that might be a slight exaggeration. I'm actually starting to recover.
