I'm thrilled and extremely grateful to [livejournal.com profile] grassle for being generous enough to gift her latest story in the My Big Fat Medieval AU series to me! :-D The first chapter of My Big Fat Medieval AU IV: The Howl of Ye Bakerstreete has been posted on LJ and A03 and the story is absolutely brilliant and hilarious so far – not that this is anything new! Oh, OH, OH! And Robin of Sherwood fans might be interested to know that there’s a wonderful reference to our favourite Sheriff, Robert de Rainault! :-D

I feel a bit guilty because I’ve been thinking about recommending the My Big Fat Medieval AU series for a while and have failed to do so until now. Of course, my own meagre words could never truly do this fantastic universe justice. For those of you who haven't read the first three stories in the series (My Big Fat Medieval AU I: A Study in Lincoln Green, My Big Fat Medieval AU II: The County of Saints, and My Big Fat Medieval AU III: The Adventure of the Suntanned Soldiers), I can't recommend them highly enough. Robin of Sherwood fans who are also Sherlock fans would especially enjoy them, but I think just about anyone with a great sense of humour should get a good laugh.

Hm... I may need to investigate now I have time for a life again. Sadly, this only lasts until mid-May.

This entire series is absolutely hysterical -- or, at least, I think so. I would suggest trying My Big Fat Medieval AU I: A Study in Lincoln Green (http://archiveofourown.org/works/274489?view_full_work=true) and see what you think. I hope you like it. :-)

Congratulations, that must have been a big thrill for you.

*goes off to investigate Medieval AU with bonus Robert de Rainault/Sherlock ....but first looks somehwat askance at that slash sign after de Rainault's name ... wonders if it would work .... takes self to task and returns to investigation*

It absolutely was! I wasn't expecting that at all! :-D

Actually, I think that might be Sheriff Lestrade you're seeing -- or, at least, I assume it is as I can't remember seeing Robert de Rainault mentioned in the headnote. However, [livejournal.com profile] grassle mentioned that he could be cropping up again, so you never know what might happen... *g* Anywaaaaaay, I think you should definitely investigate and find out for yourself. :-)

I read the first two chapters - they are good and funny. This cross-over is unusual but works well. I'm going to read the others in the series.

Oh, good! I'm happy you're enjoying the series so far! :-) I have to admit that I had doubts about whether such a crossover could work, but it works more brilliantly than I ever imagined it could! I hope you get a laugh from the rest of the series. I found the third story particularly funny, though the fourth one is proving to be hilarious as well. Happily, [livejournal.com profile] grassle has already posted two more chapters.
