Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] alysscarlet, I was able to watch Peter Davison's HILARIOUS and absolutely priceless Doctor Who fiftieth anniversary spoof sooner than I expected. It's 30 minutes and features a lot of familiar faces. In fact, I was amazed at the number of cameos, all of which were GOLD. Anywaaaaaay, it's called The Five(ish) Doctors (in case you hadn't heard), and you can find it here:

Although I've been a fan of Peter Davison since I was 12, I really wasn't expecting it to be so funny and clever! Peter Davison really is very talented -- a lot more talented than I realized. I hope we see him write and/or direct more projects, especially if Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy are involved! *g*

I saw it too and laughed sooo much and so hard!
I loved the cameos too and it was so cleverly done too - with Tom Baker being absent and Paul McGann getting a job so he couldn't protest (and we now know what job that was)

All in all - the celebrations were top notch and imo made by fans for fans. I had a great week. :D

I know what you mean. I was sure it would be funny, but I had no idea it would be that funny! :-)

Have you ever seen the 20th anniversary special, "The Five Doctors"? The Tom Baker gag was lifted straight from there. Baker refused to be in the special, so they used clips from an incomplete episode that never aired. That old clip they used was the one from "The Five Doctors" (when the Fourth Doctor is captured in the time vortex), so it's even funnier to see the same thing happening again here. *g*

Yes, everyone really outdid themselves. As you say, the celebrations were top notch. You can tell that all the specials were made by fans for fans because they knew exactly what we wanted. :-D

The first ever episode of Doctor Who I EVER saw was The Five Doctors. It was an attempt by a certain Torontian I was staying with to introduce me to DW. She failed at that occasion, mainly due to language problems at my end. I couldn't make much sense of it. But her enthousiasm was big enough for me to settle down one Christmas eve to watch Voyage of the Doomed to give the show another try. And that's the episode that got me hooked. :-)

*Smacks forehead* I completely forgot about that! *g* Well, I'm glad that the Torontonian's enthusiasm was big enough for you to take a second chance on the show with "Voyage of the Doomed". :-D
