Here are the promised photos of Tuppence (a.k.a. the adorable Persian princess). However, before I start, I thought I'd share some of the things we've learned about this very special lady. Tuppence is tiny. I thought she looked small in the pictures, but even I was surprised by her size. My mom thinks she may have never really had a chance to grow properly if she started having kittens at a very young age. We're hoping we can build her up a bit. Tuppence is a chatterbox. She meows when she enters a room, as if announcing her presence. I think she does it because she's small and wants everyone to realize that she's there -- as if we could possibly miss her. She also meows if you're petting her, sometimes if you just look at her. It's a very quiet meow, almost more of a chatter or even a squawk at times. Tuppence doesn't like to be picked up, but she loves having her chest and belly rubbed. She'll roll over on the floor and purr. She also seems to prefer to sit between people rather than on their laps, though she will venture there a bit. She adores my brother. She not only follows him around but sleeps with him at night. She does acknowledge Oakley as the alpha cat, but has no qualms about pushing Barnaby around. She chased Barnaby around the house on her first day and immediately staked her claim. Mom has nicknamed her "Bossy Boots" because of it. Saying that, she does seem to be very affectionate towards Barnaby. She likes to wash him and seems to find comfort in sleeping close to him. They're not at the cuddling stage (and may never be), but I'd say some kind of bond is forming. Anywaaaaaaay, less words, more pictures.

Tuppence sleeping under a chair. You'll notice the typical flat
face of a Persian. My mom never really liked the look of Persian
faces before Tuppence, but Tuppence quickly grew on her.

Tuppence still asleep, but from a slightly different angle.

Tuppence up close and awake. You may not be able
to tell by the picture, but she has blue eyes.

A fullish view of Tuppence lounging somewhere else.

Not completely idle. She's looking at something. We never did figure out what.

Tuppence's itty bitty ears!

Tuppence looking like a Muppet! EEEEEEEEE! ♥

A picture of Barnaby because he's special too!

Tuppence taking a nap with her new friend.

Being this adorable is hard work.
YIKES! I can't believe I forgot! The only excuse I can give is that I'm still in a state of disbelief about it. My extremely GENEROUS dad bought me a new laptop as a very early birthday present, so I owe him MASSIVE gratitude for that! :-D I asked him why he didn't just wait two months, and he said I should start using it during that 90-day warranty period, which is fair enough. He also said that he wanted to give it to me before I went off and bought my own laptop as he knows my computer is dying. I'll try to set up my new baby soon and take some pictures of it.

Date: 2014-02-24 07:28 pm (UTC)Oh, thank you! I'm really happy you think so! :-D
I'm glad she's getting along with the other cats.
Yes, I was worried that both the boys might give her a hard time, but they've both been surprisingly patient. Well, Oakley's mostly been avoiding her, but Barnaby has been surprisingly good. He puts up with being washed (I'm sure he secretly enjoys it) and doesn't seem to mind her being close to him.
Poor little thing - how irresponsible of her former owners to let her have kittens so often from such an early age.
Well, we can't be exactly sure about her past history. I mean, we definitely know that she had the one litter, but we don't know if it was her first litter. My mom's theory is based purely on her size. Unfortunately, it's quite possible that Tuppence has had multiple litters.
I really hope she'll put on a bit of weight living with your family.
Thanks again. I have high hopes that she will. Barnaby has certainly grown in the past year. *g*

I'm not a great fan of Persians, but she's got a cute face. She's full of character.
To be honest, I'm not usually a fan of Persians either. I know my mom wouldn't have normally chosen a Persian, but Tuppence needed a home and was impossible to resist. She really is adorable and very sweet-tempered. And, of course, as you pointed out, full of character. *g*
It's sweet that she adores your brother and follows him around.
I think my brother must be some kind of cat whisperer. Cats seem to be completely drawn to him, even the ones that aren't as social, like Oakley.
I'm glad she's made friends with Barnaby; they're adorable together.
Yes, I'm happy that they're getting along so well. I hope that continues. :-)
Your dad's wonderful! I hope you enjoy your new laptop.
My dad is much too generous. He pointed out that the laptop was on sale, but, even then, I think it's way too expensive a present. However, I'm not complaining. I'm just grateful to receive such a wonderful gift. :-D

Date: 2014-02-26 04:14 pm (UTC)Tuppence is fitting in better than any of us imagined! She seems very happy in her new home! :-D And Barnaby is being incredibly accommodating! I really thought there would be more friction between them. Of course, it's always nice to have a warm body to sleep beside, so maybe Barnaby is seeing the positive side of the situation. *g*
Congratulations on your early birthday gift.
Thank you! It really was a BIG surprise! :-D I'm ashamed to say that I still haven't set up my new baby, but I just haven't had time. However, my dad bought the same model himself, so I was able to take a test drive. My dad even sent me a text yesterday telling me how to bring up wordpad. I, uh, have a habit of deleting text by accident when working in Windows 8, so I was saying that I'd like to have some version of notepad as a backup. *g*

Date: 2014-02-28 08:13 pm (UTC)Oh, thank you! I'm glad you think she's beautiful! And it's great that she does seem to get along with Barnaby! :-)
Most of mine still fight each other even after being together for years.
Oh, they still have little spats and chase each other around, but, compared to some cats, that's extremely amicable. *g*
In my experience male cats seem much more tolerant of female cats (I wonder why hehe) than other female cats do.
Maybe it's just the male cats I've known, but they seem a lot more laid back than female cats. Hell, my cat (Marmie) was so laid back that he put up with a kitten trying to nurse from him! *g* I also wonder if bigger cats do sometimes make allowances for smaller ones. Although Barnaby is younger than Tuppence, he's quite a bit bigger and seems to be a bit more gentle with her. Even Oakley, who isn't very sociable with other cats, seems to be fairly patient with both Barnaby and Tuppence. Of course, it probably helps that he goes out of his way to avoid them. ;-)

Date: 2014-03-02 01:54 am (UTC)Oh poor thing. She's had such a hard time. Happier times ahead I'm sure.
She sounds adorable! I'm glad she found her place in her pack. I'm happy to hear that she's a good nurturing Dom to Barnaby!
I love her little squished face.

Date: 2014-03-02 11:31 pm (UTC)I think I know the sound because I'm pretty sure I made it myself. *g* And the pictures really don't do Tuppence justice. She's even more utterly precious and adorable up close. :-)
Oh poor thing. She's had such a hard time. Happier times ahead I'm sure.
Well, as my dad keeps saying, she's definitely landed on her feet. *g* I think she'll be happy at my parents' place. She certainly had no trouble settling in and seems very satisfied with her lot. :-)

I don't think she had any trouble at all. She seems determined to be a good nurturing Dom to Barnaby. Apparently, she even washed Barnaby's back feet the other day, and Barnaby just lay there and took it. *g*
I love her little squished face.
I'm not usually a fan of the Persian cat face, but it really is adorable on Tuppence. You can't help being enthralled.

And yay for a new laptop, that's wonderful news.
Thanks again! I'm slowing setting it up the way I'd like it. Unfortunately, I just haven't had a lot of time to play around with it yet. And speaking of excuses, I'm really sorry that I haven't read Watching The Flames Burn High (http://archiveofourown.org/works/1243990/chapters/2556001) yet. I'll try to get to it soon and leave you some feedback.
