Squishy Face Close Ups
Mar. 30th, 2014 09:50 pmI brought my camera with me yesterday when visiting my parents because I heard that Tuppence had started carrying bits of paper in her mouth and was playing impromptu games of soccer. Of course, I managed to forget to put the charged battery back inside the camera and didn't manage to get any pictures of Tuppence playing soccer. However, I did get these other shots using my cell phone. I think they turned out surprisingly well.
In other news, I was delighted to discover today that I could transfer PaintShop Pro to my new laptop. I assumed it wouldn't be compatible, but it works! :-D Oh, and all my old Word files work just fine, which is also excellent news. It's been a struggle, but I think I might just manage to get along okay with my new baby, despite Windows 8. *g*

Date: 2014-03-31 07:32 am (UTC)I've had a iMac for years without any problems but my laptop with Windows 8 has this need to make up for it. Working with it seems like stress relief therapy from time to time because I never swear and curse as much as I do when working with Windows 8. But it got better once we got to know each other (and I realized that the less I do on it the better *g*)
Aaaanyway... Tuppence is an adorable furball. :)

Date: 2014-04-01 02:01 am (UTC)That's great news about your laptop! I'm going to have to break down and buy a new desktop computer and have been dreading it because of Windows 8. Ugh. I'm hoping all of my programs will work too, but I'm not counting on it. :P

Herne, I hear ya. That's why I held off for so long. Actually, I would have kept holding off if my dad hadn't been kind enough to buy me the laptop as a very early birthday present. Well, it might take some time, patience and very strong language, but I think you'll be happy with Windows 8 in the end. I found I was okay once I installed Norton and Firefox. Fortunately, I also had some idea what I was getting into because I had used my mom's laptop, which is also on Windows 8.
I'm hoping all of my programs will work too, but I'm not counting on it. :P
You might be surprised what is compatible. I was sure that PaintShop Pro wouldn't be as it's at least a few years old. I would recommend doing a search online for tips about certain programs if you do run into trouble installing them. I know there are some things that just won't work on Windows 8, like SonicStage, which I'm really going to miss. It's the price for "improved" technology, I guess. :-/

Yes, very good news on both counts, though having access to PaintShop Pro will mean more poorly designed icons and bad cover art... *g*

I'm glad PaintShop Pro was transferable! Icons ahoy!
Were you affected by the blackout? I rather thought it was just my building until I read an article this morning and found out it was wide-spread.

Hope you're feeling better?
Oh, yes. I'm completely better now. Thanks for asking. :-)

I'm still amazed that it worked. I was sure it wouldn't be compatible.
Icons ahoy!
Tee hee hee! Yes, at some point, I'm sure there will be more icons. :-)

Oh, no! I assumed the blackout was further west than you. It didn't even occur to me that you would be affected. I wonder if Edra lost power too. I was lucky enough not to be affected by the blackout.
