I've been meaning to transfer photos from my cell phone to my laptop for weeks now and finally got around to it today -- probably because it's a holiday. Happy Victoria Day, btw! :-)

Well, what do we have here?

I think I'd better take a closer look.

See? I can be helpful.

What's all this, then?

I just looooooove this cat toy.

My cat toy.

Still my cat toy.

Oi! What are you looking at?

They're adorable. :) I love the pics and the captions. It seems all cats love paper bags (and some other things).

Thank you! I'm happy you loved the pics and captions! :-D Yes, I don't think I've ever come across a cat who could resist a paper bag. Same thing goes for an empty box. *g*

Thanks for posting these! They make me smile. I take it that's a catnip toy? I love how nutty cats get under the influence. The manager at the plant nursery at work has put catnip plants in the greenhouse where the work cats live and one of the cats spends a lot of time hanging around them!

No problem! I was only too happy to share! :-) I can't help being amused by them either, especially the ones of Barnaby shamelessly rooting through my sister's birthday presents and Tuppence glaring at me in that last photo. *g*

Oh, yes, indeed. *g* It's pretty hilarious how nutty cats get around catnip. Oakley's especially cute when he rolls around in it. Barnaby is downright mercenary. He once broke into a cupboard where my mom was keeping some catnip and ripped open the bag.

Oh, what a good idea! :-) I think it's hilarious that the one cat spends a lot of time hanging around the plants. I guess you'll know where to go first if you're looking for the cat. *g*

Lovely. Typical cat poses, half inside bags and hanging on to something they think you might take.

Thank you very much, [livejournal.com profile] thesmallhobbit! I'm glad you like the pics! :-) Yes, all of these poses are so typically feline, especially Barnaby shamelessly rooting through those gift bags. Same thing goes for the catnip toy. Tuppence wasn't about to let that treasure go! *g*

Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] boobamiaow! I'm so glad you liked the crazy cat pics! :-) I think you're so right about universal cat behaviour. No cat can resist a paper bag or a good catnip toy! *g*

Awww such adorable kitty pictures :) I'm glad that they seem to having fun with toys and things that aren't toys but that become toys for cats ;) Anthony's not a fan of cats but I am, my parents have two and they're always good company I find :)

Also is that a Captain Treville icon I see you using? Have you started watching the BBC's Musketeers series? ;) I've written quite a bit of fic about that show lol. Men in leather, what can I say ;)

Thank you! I'm glad you like the pics! :-) Yes, I think Barnaby and Tuppence had quite a blast with the paper bags and catnip toys.

I find that a lot of people who didn't have cats growing up either don't like them or, worse still, are afraid of them. There have always been cats in my parents' house (even before I was born), so I was destined to become a crazy cat lady. *g*

Yes, that's a Captain Treville icon you see. I'm, uh, kind of crushing on him at the moment. I've only seen the first three episodes so far, but I had a thing for Hugo Speer before I started watching Musketeers. Even without Hugo Speer, I probably would have got into the series. I love the novels (though there's at least one I haven't read) and have enjoyed a couple of other productions, such as the Michael York films. Okay, they're a bit slapstick, but the fight choreography is awesome.

I remember loving the Michael York films when I was younger, it was one of the first films I remember watching where blood was spilled. They're good films I think, fun and chaotic. I haven't read the books though.

The BBC series is fun but rather uneven in writing quality. The fics I've read have been pretty awesome though. I might do a fic rec post for it actually. I've written a lot of fics myself because the characters do inspire me so. Some pretty weird ideas actually too LOL.

I have to confess that I only saw the Michael York films fairly recently. I think the first film is really good (if a bit slapstick), while the second film isn't quite as strong because it's made up of what wasn't used in the first film. The Salkinds decided to split what was supposed to be one film into two, so there are a couple of continuity issues (e.g. D'Artagnan not knowing Milady in the second film when they met in the first film). However, the second film still has a lot going for it, especially in terms of action and angst.

I haven't read the books though.

The books (the ones I've managed to read) were definitely worth reading. I can highly recommend them. :-)

Yes, I noticed that the writing could definitely be better. It can be a little obvious and heavy-handed when subtle touches would work better. I find this particularly with Milady, who is about as subtle as a tanker truck. *g*

The fics I've read have been pretty awesome though. I might do a fic rec post for it actually. I've written a lot of fics myself because the characters do inspire me so. Some pretty weird ideas actually too LOL.

I have to confess that I've mostly zeroed in on the Treville fic -- not that there's much of it. All the same, I've found a few gems that I've happily read -- again and again and again. *g* I'm sure it must be a fun universe to play in. I can easily see why the characters have inspired you. :-)

CORRECTION! I've done The Four Musketeers an injustice! I was familiarizing myself with the plot of The Three Musketeers (the novel) as it's been so many years since I read the book. While reading through a plot synopsis on Wikipedia, I discovered this:

D'Artagnan looks after his friends, who have just recovered from their injuries. He brings them back to Paris and meets Milady de Winter officially. He recognizes her from Meung as one of the Cardinal's agents, but this does not deter him. D'Artagnan quickly develops a love on the beautiful lady but learns from her handmaiden that she is in fact quite indifferent toward him.

This would explain why d'Artagnan acts as if he hasn't met Milady in The Four Musketeers as the film essentially opens around this point in the novel. It's obviously been too many years since I read the novel. I'm thinking I should rewatch the films too, especially if Showcase decides not to show The Musketeers again this week. :-(

Tuppence reminds me of Wilfred Brimley in those pictures for some reason.

Alas, Barnaby is rummaging through the bag or I could have quoted Mary Poppins, "Tuppence a bag."

I didn't grow up with cats (Mom was violently allergic (as am I), but we had dogs and I am captivated by almost all animals. Please don't stop the cat pictures.

How is Tuppence fitting in?

LOL! You're right! Tuppence looks a lot like Wilfred Brimley! *g*

Tee, hee, hee! I'll often break into that Mary Poppins song when I'm around her, but it's a shame she wasn't rummaging through one of the bags so that I could use "Tuppence a bag" as a caption. I'll have to leave out a bag, try to lure her into it, and then take a picture. I'd be able to use the caption then. *g*

I didn't grow up with cats (Mom was violently allergic (as am I), but we had dogs and I am captivated by almost all animals.

I hear ya. I find all animals fascinating. It's hard not to find something captivating about each one. :-)

Please don't stop the cat pictures.

No worries there. I'm too much the crazy cat lady to do that. I'd probably still post them even if I didn't think anyone was really interested. *g*

How is Tuppence fitting in?

Extremely well. She seems very happy and comfortable in her new home. She's sweet and affectionate to everyone. :-D
