Fandom Then/Now

Some of you may know about this already, but Katherine Morrissey, a PhD Candidate in Media, Cinema and Digital Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is conducting a research project on fans and fanfiction. I was friended by fandomthennow because I included fan fiction as an interest in my profile. To be honest, I've only had a chance to read a tiny bit about the project, but what I've read so far has been really interesting. I'm going to try to participate.

I was friended by her too, oddly enough on my Swedish journal. I agree, it sounds like a really interesting project and I think I'll want to participate too. Alhtough at the moment, I don't have any idea of what to do. I guess I'll find out.

Oh, that's interesting. Maybe she's trying to encompass as many nationalities as she can to get a fuller picture. Fans and fan fiction cover many countries and languages, so I hope this is the case. :-)

I still have to find that out myself. I just haven't had a chance to read enough about the project to know. I assume it's a survey and/or questionnaire.
