Yes, I know. Another photo album. Sorry. However, there shouldn't be any more for a while. Anywaaaaaay, my dad kindly arranged this fantastic excursion last weekend. Throughout much of the year, the Waterloo Central Railway offers historic railway trips (using restored locomotives, passenger cars and cabooses) within the Waterloo Region. Bright and early last Saturday, four of us piled into my dad's car for a trip from Waterloo to St. Jacobs.

WCR 61 Wood. If memory serves, this caboose just turned 100 years old.

Date: 2014-11-02 03:12 am (UTC)You guys are so lucky to be able to go on these cool outings together. We used to do that a lot, when my dad was still alive, but then mum didn't like to drive and now she's not allowed to, because of her eyes. I suppose I really should try to get a license, but I doubt if I could, for several reasons. Anyway, I know I could go by train (at least in theory) and bus, but somehow I always feel too stressed out to go, these days.
Thanks for sharing all these photos. As always, they're a lot of fun to study (and beautiful too).
Also, I love the cat. :)

Date: 2014-11-03 02:15 am (UTC)Thank you very much! I'm happy you like the photos! It's very sweet of you to say that! :-D It was a really interesting outing.
I've been on one of those historic railway trips once, when I was in school (about 8 or 9 years old). Practically all I can remember is that I couldn't find my ticket and the ticket collector was approaching fast. Fortunately, I did find it just at the last minute.
Ironically, I almost couldn't find my ticket for the return trip! *g* Actually, your memory sounds like something that could have come from my own childhood memories. *g*
There's another one of those railways and an old train, that I'd really like to go on, but so far I haven't got round to it.
I hope you get a chance to take a trip on that old train. I think you'd enjoy it. :-)

To be honest, I don't go on that many outings with my dad normally, though I see him on a pretty regular basis. In any case, we are very lucky to have such opportunities. I know it's a lot harder when you don't drive, but I hope you still get a chance to take your own excursion at some point.

Thanks again for your kind words! And thank you very much for taking the time to look at my photos! :-D

You're not the only one. He seems to be very popular. *g*
