The Cartoon that Got Away...
Jan. 18th, 2015 12:59 pmOne of the members of Addie's Faction put together a newsletter recently called RA Magazine to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Raconteur, the original Addie's Faction newsletter. In any case, various members (such as yours truly) submitted items. A very short fic I wrote made it in, but a cartoon I drew didn't. Ink supplies were an issue, so I know it's nothing personal. However, I did spend some time on the cartoon, and it's an idea I've had in my head for over ten years. In other words, I'm determined that the cartoon should be
I should point out that the cartoon is only going to be amusing (slightly amusing) if you've seen "The Cross of St. Ciricus". Even then, maybe not...Oh, Herne, here it is:
While we're on the subject of Robin of Sherwood, I'd like to share a fic rec.

I'm not sure what's wrong with me, but at the moment, I can't even remember the episode you mention - and I re-watched the whole series a couple of years ago. Oh, well...

Well, I draw very rarely now. Like you, I haven't really focused much on drawing since I was a teenager. Okay, I've churned out some fan art pieces and cartoons for friends or publications like Raconteur and RA Magazine, but that's been it.

It's the one where Robert learns that Gisburne is his half-brother and has to exchange the Cross of St. Ciricus for Will when Gisburne takes him hostage.

Date: 2015-01-20 04:31 pm (UTC)No worries. You might not have found it slightly amusing even if you could remember the episode. *g* In case you're wondering (and it helps), it's the episode where we learn that Robert and Gisburne are half-brothers. The cartoon is poking fun of that scene on the cliff where Gisburne is holding Will hostage.
What I can say is that I'm impressed. I can handle a computer and make something artistic-ish, but I can't handle a pen to make things artistic :)
Thank you very much! That's very kind of you! :-D I took art classes as a kid, so that explains my limited skill. *g* On the other hand, my computer graphic art skills are pathetic. I'm sure you're a much better artist in that respect! :-)
