This will probably only be of interest to die-hard Sherlock Holmes fans (and maybe fans of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in general), but there's a Kickstarter project that has been started to restore Undershaw, the home in which Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote The Hound of the Baskervilles and other Sherlock Holmes stories. It's also a building that has fallen into major disrepair. Thanks to a dedicated preservation campaign, Undershaw was saved from the machinations of a developer, but it now needs money to be restored. Almost £8,000 has been raised so far and the organizers are hoping to raise at least £10,000 in total to ensure that the building restoration can begin as soon as possible. Undershaw has been purchased by Stepping Stones, which plans to restore the building and turn it into a school for children with learning disabilities.

The main way that the Kickstarter project is raising money is through The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories, the world's largest collection of new Sherlock Holmes stories ever. For various pledge amounts, you can get your hands on some or all of the MX volumes. I chose the £15 level in order to receive PDF copies of all the stories, but, obviously, any amount would be welcome.
