Dissolution Update

This will only be of interest to a few of you, but...I finally finished writing the rough draft of Dissolution this morning. And when I say "rough," I mean rough. It needs some serious revision -- and probably at least three or four passes, which won't be a quick process as I'm guessing the second installment will be at least 9,000 to 10,000 words. I, uh, still need to type up the last three scenes. Anywaaaaaaay, what I'm trying to say is that I won't be able to make my original posting deadline of February. I'm taking two night courses and have an assignment due on February 28th and a mid-term on March 1st. I probably won't be able to start revising the story until after that, but it will be posted in early March.

I hope it will be worth the wait. I'm quite happy with it, despite its rough state. I think I'll be happier still when I've revised the hell out of it. *g*

Ah, thanks, crimsoncorundum! I'd rather take a bit longer with it in the hope of posting a better story than rush it. In any case, I appreciate your patience and well wishes. :-D

Yes, it's burgeoning and I'd be happy for it to stop now. *g* The second installment has been a fun and challenging process, with scenes that I thought would be fairly straightforward being more complicated, etc. At least the rough draft of the whole story is complete now, though I can already think of at least three or four scenes I'd like to fiddle with, including the last one!

Sorry about your LJ woes. I haven't tried going on it yet today, so I may run into problems too. I think I'm still on LJ because I still have some friends there and belong to communities that haven't made the move to DW. To be honest, as grateful as I am to have DW, I still prefer the LJ format, especially when it comes to posting. Maybe it's because I use HTML coding, but my posts never look as good here, especially if I'm sharing pictures or videos.

Totally agree about the DW/LJ thing. I'm still on both for that same reason.

Looking forward to the rest of Dissolution, whenever it comes (I'm still struggling to complete 'Shalott' ... the rhymes are getting sillier and sillier!)

I'm sorry about your struggles with "Shalott," though I hope you'll include an outtakes post with some of the sillier rhymes that you've come up with! *g* I'm sure it will all come together in the end, though I do understand and sympathize with you about writing projects that won't do what they're supposed to do. I'm really looking forward to reading "Shalott" when it's complete. It's been brilliant so far! :-D

Well, I made a gargantuan effort last night and COMPLETED it. (Actually, most of the silly rhymes made their way back into the finished piece!)

Unfortunately, I might have to put off reading it until tomorrow. I'm fighting a migraine at the moment and might have to crash soon. If I can read it later today (before my class), I will.
