Crazy Muse

Although my lovely muse had all weekend to inspire me with ideas, she only made a brief appearance during my Saturday bus ride to Scarberia. I didn't hear one peep from her yesterday when I was home all day and should have been writing. No, my muse waits until I'm getting ready for work this morning before she decides to start whispering in my ear. Luckily, I always carry a little notebook with me, so I was able to jot down some lines on the subway. Unfortunately, because it was a little too crowded for note-taking on the Business Express, the muse had the opportunity to impart even more gems as I half-dozed during the trip to Markham. By the time I got off the bus, my mind was crammed full of ideas I had to write down, so, of course, I took out some scrap paper from my desk drawer as soon as I reached my cubicle and started writing like mad -- in between doing the work I was actually paid to be doing. Thankfully, I think I got everything down I wanted to without wasting too much time. I should really be feeling guilty because I'm good at that, but I'm much too happy with the notes I jotted down.

Maybe the return of my muse is a sign that the destructive cycle that has been plaguing me for the past week has finally come to an end. While many of you are probably painfully aware of the fact that my computer didn't die, I'm forced to confess that my printer kicked the bucket and my DVD player is acting up. Oh, and I had to buy new earphones for my MP3 player yesterday because they bit the dust too. As I would probably commit homicide if I couldn't block out my co-workers, the earphones were an absolute necessity. At least I now know that I'm not going deaf. I was beginning to fear that was the case when I kept having to turn the volume up higher and higher on my dying earphones... *g*

*snickers* We could compare notes on electronic devices going haywire. I recently starting using my play station for a DVD player as player I bought this sping died. My cell phone stopped working last night, though it started working again this AM - I'm crediting my flinging it across the apt last night for that development. I could go on...

I was in a mood last night. It's a wonder the cell phone was still in one piece. Power went out in the building around 2:30 and with the heat and humidity it was like living in a sauna. I finally bolted to my brother's at 9PM, power still not fixed.

Yikes! It sounds like your luck has been about as good as mine lately! *g* Well, if it makes you feel any better, I had quite the temper tantrum when I first realized my printer was broken. While I didn't fling it across the room, I did shake it a couple of times and then proceeded to throw other things, like pens and notebooks. Then I did my usual furious pacing around the apartment, swearing my head off. Uh, I'd been having a bad day, so the printer was just the icing on the cake. *g*

Poor you! I'd heard that some people in the province had lost their power yesterday. I'm glad you were able to go to your brother's to escape the heat and humidity. I hope your power has been restored now.

It looks like your electronic doodads are acting up ahead of schedule. They're not supposed to act up (and attack) until December 21, 2012. I feel for you. I still don't have a computer that is working properly. There really hasn't been much opportunity to get one.

Oh, and I have witnessed a Lazigyrl meltdown. It usually takes a lot to put her over the edge; but when it happens, you don't want to be there.

Well, it would be just my luck to experience the attack before December 21, 2012. *g* Well, except for the very dead printer, I've been pretty much able to get around the other problems. Okay, getting my DVD to work last night involved a lot of threats, curses and sticking my hand in the player to yank out the DVD when the little door wouldn't open, but it did work in the end...

Going by my own temper, I can believe it. I'm a bottler, so I tend to store up a lot of anger and then blow when it becomes too much. Fortunately, I'm almost always alone (in the privacy of my own apartment) when I do blow a gasket. If I lose my temper in public or around friends, I usually go very quiet and very cold and then kick up a fuss once I'm by myself. My poor family has seen me lose it, so they can testify to the scorching heat of my temper. *g*
