I've Sold Out

I've embraced the Dark Side of the Force. I've made the switch to a sponsored account. I've sold my soul in order to have 15 userpics instead of 6. That's why I've now got that ugly box on the side of my LJ. It's the punishment I must bear for being a corporate whore. But 15 userpics instead of 6! That's 9 whole extra userpics! How could I have possibly withstood that kind of temptation? And by getting a sponsored account, I'm helping to support Live Journal, so it's not just for selfish reasons, right...? Yeah, okay. Who am I kidding? It is for selfish reasons. I'm a despicable person with no scruples whatsoever.

Did I mention the 9 extra userpics? Extra userpics are important because having an LJ is, like, 70% about the pretty icons and 30% about the writing.

LOL. Dude. I have 117 icon spaces, and half the time it doesn't seem like enough. I mean I'm only using like 98 or something at the moment, but still...you can never have too many icons. (I totally concur with the 70/30 breakdown. *G*)

You know, I had a feeling that if anyone understood it would be you, especially when it came to the 70/30 breakdown. And do you really have 117 icons?!! That's incredible! I mean, I knew you had created a LOT of them, but I had no idea there were that many! Well, if I bought Paint Shop Pro after my free trial maybe I would have created tons of new icons too. Probably not 117 but...you get the picture.

I hope the Obscure Fandom Project (http://smithereen.livejournal.com/tag/obscure+fandom+project) is going well. I see that you've already reached episode 6 of RoS, so everything seems to be going according to plan...Bwahaha!

Oh lord, I've made many, many more than 117. 117 is only the maximum number of spaces I can fill at any given time. I've purposely never counted how many I've actually made over the years because I'm sure it would embarrass the hell out me. *G* Of course a lot of them were made a couple years ago during my unemployed phase...it's so much easier to find time to play when unemployed. Having a nice graphics program to play in definitely helps too though. A guy at work got me AdobeCS last year for my work computer (so of course I put it on my home computer too) and it's definitely lots of fun to play with all the bells and whistles. Even if I still don't know what half of them do. *G*

My eeeevil plans are proceeding well. At least one girl who DLed has posted about how much she likes the show in her own LJ (and about how pretty Michael is of course) so I know I've hooked at least one new person for sure!

No, I don't blame you for not stopping to count them, though this has more to do with my own feelings of math inadequacy than any embarrassment on your part. *g* Well, I think your icons (the ones I've seen) totally ROCK, so I think you should keep churning them out. Besides, if you're having fun then what's the harm in it?

That's great news about the new RoS convert! If she's posted about the show in her own LJ then word will spread even further and...Bwahaha! Yes, I'd say your eeeevil plans are proceeding very well.

I actually have a few Gisburne & Mordred icons I could spare. I originally made up a batch for a certain RA website and never heard back from them. In fact, I ended up snatching a couple back for my own personal use. Anyway, I have a few icons that are just sitting on my hard drive, so I'd be happy to send them to you. They're nothing wonderful, but they might do you until some better icons come along. :-)

icons...oh yeah... there are icons LOL! Maybe in another life I'll have time to make some. I have to say that your ads are obviously targeted - I have the Natural Horse Directory and Robin Hood Airport :)

Hey! Great to hear from you! I should warn you that making icons can be very addictive, though it's a lot of fun as well. I like your current icon a lot as it reminds me of you. Uh, I do mean that as a compliment as it's very cute and has some of your features, like the dark hair.

As far as the ads themselves go, I was able to choose the kind of sponsors who could advertize in my space, though obviously there must be some targeting considering that the Robin Hood Airport popped up!

The RA website in question wasn't yours, so no worries. Besides, it's not a big deal.
