Well, I don't know the final results as far as money raised by the auction goes, as payments are still coming in, but the current tally is £897.46! Of that total, I contributed £8.25 by gaining the winning bids on items MSF17 (a set of five Egyptian mock papyrus bookmarks), MSF34 (a small David Hewlett 'Kisses' photomagnet), and MSF38 (an SGA McShep fic written by lilyleia78 (minimum 1000 words, any rating)). However, most exciting of all (for me, anyway) is that MSF37 (an SGA story by Rusty Armour (minimum 2500-3000 words, any character(s), gen or slash)) earned a winning bid of £14.75! :-D So thanks to everyone who bid on my story, especially impamoudara for having the winning bid and being generous enough to bid that kind of money (not to mention rounding up the bid to £20.00) on a

Date: 2009-04-06 01:21 am (UTC)I was going to wait until the grand total for the auction came in, but I was too excited (and vain) to keep the news to myself. I still can't believe how much the story went for -- or that there was a bidding war at all!

I saw that you gave £15 on the Justgiving (http://www.justgiving.com/msf_for_david3) website, which was very generous of you. :-) I'm kind of kicking myself now for not rounding my total donation up as well. However, I've given to a couple of charities recently and I'm trying to be a bit more careful with my money.
