Well, I don't know the final results as far as money raised by the auction goes, as payments are still coming in, but the current tally is £897.46! Of that total, I contributed £8.25 by gaining the winning bids on items MSF17 (a set of five Egyptian mock papyrus bookmarks), MSF34 (a small David Hewlett 'Kisses' photomagnet), and MSF38 (an SGA McShep fic written by lilyleia78 (minimum 1000 words, any rating)). However, most exciting of all (for me, anyway) is that MSF37 (an SGA story by Rusty Armour (minimum 2500-3000 words, any character(s), gen or slash)) earned a winning bid of £14.75! :-D So thanks to everyone who bid on my story, especially impamoudara for having the winning bid and being generous enough to bid that kind of money (not to mention rounding up the bid to £20.00) on a [livejournal.com profile] rusty_armour fic! I'll do my best not to disappoint you when it comes time to write your story!

I wondered what you went for... I did not the little bidding war that took place at one point. :)

I gave £15 in total rounding up from £12.25 in bids. I was bidding on some the stuff that had no bites but only picked up one extra item in the end.

I was going to wait until the grand total for the auction came in, but I was too excited (and vain) to keep the news to myself. I still can't believe how much the story went for -- or that there was a bidding war at all!

I saw that you gave £15 on the Justgiving (http://www.justgiving.com/msf_for_david3) website, which was very generous of you. :-) I'm kind of kicking myself now for not rounding my total donation up as well. However, I've given to a couple of charities recently and I'm trying to be a bit more careful with my money.

That's awesome! And it exceeds the total [livejournal.com profile] the4ts had estimated, so even better still! :-)

Please pass on my thanks to all those who have bid as well - really impressive...

I'll be sure to do that, Pete. :-) You may know about this already, but [livejournal.com profile] msfauction is an LJ community for the auction -- in case you're interested.
