I just learned from my brother and sister that lightning struck a neighbour's tree and knocked out power for the entire street last night. Apparently, they were without power until morning. Not to brag or anything, but I managed to knock out my own power without the aid of lightning... *g*

I didn't realize the storm was so bad for them. I assumed my family was okay because Scarborough wasn't one of the areas hit by a tornado. There were four of them that swept through the Greater Toronto Area.

Awesome! You can never RELY on lightning; whereas your own knock-out-power Power shall never wither!

Well, that's just it. Lightning comes and goes in a flash, while my own destructive abilities never fade. I have the ultimate knock-out-power Power. *g*

I'd love a big storm here. Instead we've had weeks of cloud, with some sunny spells. Last night was so cold I had to get up and get a blanket on my bed.....in August!!

Well, you might want to skip the tornadoes, but a big storm that doesn't cause too much damage could be exactly what you're looking for. :-)

It sounds like your weather is the complete opposite of mine. While June and July were unseasonably cool and rainy, we're into something of a heat wave right now. I've heard people saying that we'll probably end up with an Indian summer.

Now you've discovered you have the powers of light and darkness, are you SURE you don't have a silver arrow hidden somewhere? *EG*

LOL! Good point! I've been cleaning my apartment because my mom is coming for a visit on Friday, so I'll be sure to look for a silver arrow while I'm at it. ;-)

It was quite the week for tornadoes hitting urban areas. We had some hit downtown Minneapolis last week (interrupting the convention meeting for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America -- which is an entirely different story).

Wow! I guess it really was quite the week for tornadoes hitting urban areas! I wonder how many tornadoes swept through North America? I'm almost afraid to ask! Well, I'm sorry that tornadoes interrupted your convention. I hope everyone got through it okay and no one was seriously hurt in Minneapolis.

Congrats on such an amazing power. You can totally shock people now without having to rub your feet on the carpet. Cool!
And hey, re: your other post, at least you know how to change a fuse! If that happened to me, I'd be ringing my brother and going next door to ask the boys.

I hadn't thought of that! This power of mine just keeps getting better and better! *g*

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I wouldn't have known in the first place if I hadn't lost power to my stove one night. I just happened to be talking to my dad on the phone and mentioned that the stove had lost power. That's when he asked me if I'd checked the fuse and I had to get directions to not only where the fuse box was located but how one goes about changing a fuse. *g* It's possible that you have a more modern breaker panel. As my building is pretty ancient, I've got a fuse box with fuses that need to be screwed in and out.
