When I was moving Gisburne's NASTY Knight Page a couple of weeks ago, I made the mistake of glancing at my RoS stories as I transferred the files. I had been thinking of revising them for a while, so seeing the sorry state they were in prompted me to take action. For that reason, I've been trying to revise as many of my RoS stories as possible. The Reckoning was basically okay because I'd written it fairly recently (e.g. five years ago as opposed to ten years ago). I'd also revised Silent Knight last December in preparation for the annual "Fic of Christmas Past" section at the Ros Fanfic Archive. That left Robin Hood and the Sheriff's Mother, The Varlet, The Knight's Charges, and The Last Squire, which I just finished going through. *Phew!*

I don't know when I'll get around to Children of the Wheel and Children of the Wheel II. I'm kind of afraid of them, to be honest! I should also, oh, be doing some actual writing. I'm sure the real reason I insisted on spending most of my weekend on this revision project was to get out of writing (and not just because I'm still recovering from Demon Tofu IV: The Rise of Lucifer’s Zombie Horde *g*)

Surprisingly, my RoS stories aren't as shitty as I thought they might be. I mean, yeah, there were some major problems with structure, clarity and description (or lack thereof), but I think they're almost okayish now. They're the kind of thing I might be willing to share with someone's grandchildren some day -- if said grandchildren needed to be punished.

While going through The Last Squire, I started reading this really cool AU version of "The Empty House," in which Watson learns the big secret (that Holmes didn't die at Reichenbach Falls three years previously) in an entirely different manner than what we see in canon. Unfortunately, it's a very long story and I'm not sure if I have enough will power to pull myself away if I don't finish reading it at a decent hour tonight. If you're looking for a long Sherlock Holmes slash story, I highly recommend nlr alicia's The Longest Night, which is a sequel to 70 Minutes to London. Oh, and I also loved Case of the Missing Flat Mate, which is a bit on the sappy side, but it was the third day of my period yesterday, okay?

Holy links, Batman! This is an index not an LJ entry! Well, at least I didn't post that one picture I also came across when moving Gisburne's NASTY Knight Page. A Guy Groupie grinning like the Cheshire Cat while meeting Michael Praed! Talk about embarrassing!

Oh, crap!

A Guy Groupie grinning like the Cheshire Cat while meeting Michael Praed!

I can actually recall some other incriminating photos where said Guy Groupie is getting very comfy with some other wolfsheads... *eg*

For some reason I didn't realize that you had written "The Reckoning". I really enjoyed that story and am going to have to go re-read it. I'm not sure if I've read the others or not. Will have to investigate. :) And I totally forgot about finishing the Demon Tofu series!

*Blushes* Well, thank you very much, [livejournal.com profile] avictoriangirl! I'm glad you enjoyed the "The Reckoning"! :-) I can't always keep track of who wrote what either, so no worries there.

Oh, don't feel you have to read any of the other stories, unless you have the time and the inclination. You might like my fic as Robert is in all of them, though the focus tends to be on Gisburne. *g* I would suggest skipping "Children of the Wheel" and "Children of the Wheel II" (which might be a good idea in the case of "COTW2" anyway because it's an unfinished WIP) for now as I'm hoping to revise them soon. Trust me on this. They're a mess. They're also pretty long, which makes the situation even worse. *g*

And I totally forgot about finishing the Demon Tofu series!

Again, no worries. The series isn't going anywhere, so you can read it at your leisure -- if you're feeling brave enough. *g* I could be wrong, but I think it's the last two stories you may not have seen -- The Time the Winchester Boys Met God or the Terrible Truth About Demon Tofu (http://rusty-armour.livejournal.com/49201.html) and this year's Demon Tofu IV: The Rise of Lucifer’s Zombie Horde (http://rusty-armour.livejournal.com/49734.html).

You're welcome hon. :D Oooh, and you know how much I love Robert, so I will be checking the rest of them out too. All except CofW of course! ;)

Yes! Those are the two Demon Tofu ones I missed! Thanks for the links! :)

Well, don't feel bad if you can't get around to reading all of them. And no worries if there are any you don't like. A couple of the stories ("The Varlet" and "Silent Knight") are pure parody, so my strange brand of humour may or may not be your cup of ale. *g* As for COTW, I can give you the heads up when it has been revised. I may even post an entry on LJ.

No problem! I wish I could say it was a purely selfless act, but it was partly an act of shameless self-promotion as well. *g*

I've read all your RoS fic and wished for more, so I'll read them again now you've revised them.

The Varlet is great fun, but I think the Robin in that one should be Loxley, because Michael was vainer than Jason!

Ah, [livejournal.com profile] karen9, I'm touched and deeply flattered! Thank you! :-D You don't have to re-read any of the stories unless you really want to. If you do decide to re-read them, you might want to skip "Children of the Wheel" for now as I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet.

LOL! Well, if I'd used Michael instead of Jason, I couldn't have had the "half-brother" gag with Robin's theme song. I also have a weakness for scenes with Gisburne and Robert. However, if I ever write another RoS parody (and, to be honest, I don't think this is very likely), I'll pick on Michael instead of Jason if there are any quips about hair or personal appearance in general. *g*

LOL! It is rather nauseatingly cute considering that I'm in it! The ironic thing is that I'm a Guy Groupie, so Michael Praed (e.g. the first Robin Hood) should be the enemy! However, like so many other women before me, I totally fell under his spell. The man is gorgeous and utterly charming...And this is the reason I can never play poker! Damn Cheshire Cat grin! *VBCCG*

Ahhhh! Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] dubghall! :-) Despite how rough they were, I was pleasantly surprised that the stories weren't as crappy as I feared. *g*

That picture with Michael does bring back memories, doesn't it? I know you and [livejournal.com profile] bakerybard had a lot of fun providing commentary from our table as the rest of us moved through that long line to meet Michael. *g*
