Your Basic Bitch Fest

Yeah, not the best day, I guess. I'm seriously PMSy, so my coping skills are non-existent. I thought my mood was improving for the better. Then my manager showed up at my cubicle and informed me that he had a "special project" for me to work on. Translation: You are so screwed. Turns out there was a shitload of work that had accumulated since April and -- OOOOOPS -- no one thought to take care of it. Could you make it a priority? Translation: I fucked up and I need you to fix it. NOW. Anywaaaaay, this "special project" meant staying at work until almost 6:00. I would have stayed longer, but the network went down (again) and I had to call it quits. I'm sure I'll hear about it tomorrow. Maybe my hormones will have stabilized slightly and I won't feel this intense urge to kill people/burst into tears. That would be good.
Man, I thought I was bummed out last week when Superman Ripped Off hit theatres, but this is even worse. I could be writing or working on my photo album, but instead I'm having a self-indulgent bitch session and drowning my sorrows in fic. Oh, and eating low-fat chocolate ice cream. The correct portion, of course. Though I'm going to gain weight with my period anyway (fucking water retention), so I'm not sure why I bothered. *grumble, grumble*
I'll be more productive tomorrow night. Or maybe the night after that...

Date: 2006-07-06 07:46 am (UTC)(a) POTC2 ... TOMORROW!
(b) I'm gonna sent my newly-recruited Uruk-patrol, led by the all-singing, all-dancing Grabnutz to sort out your boss for you.
Hope you feel better soon!

Date: 2006-07-06 05:02 pm (UTC)I am so looking forward to POTC2! In fact, I'm seriously tempted to go see it right after work tomorrow! However, I'll probably show some restraint and do a weekend matinee. In fact, I should probably wait and see when my brother's planning to go, though I really want to go this weekend. Movie aside, I want to buy the soundtrack. I hope it's been released. I had to wait two or three whole days the last time!
Thanks for sending the newly-recruited Uruk-patrol, led by the all-singing, all-dancing Grabnutz. My manager hasn't given me any trouble today so far (touch wood), so I think maybe they did the trick.
Thanks again for being an awesome friend! :-)

Date: 2006-07-06 06:13 pm (UTC)I can never do the "correct" portion with that low-fat stuff. Why can't they put it in small sizes. Why can't Guiltless Gourmet tortillas, for example, be in a $1.25 size bag instead of $3 bag?
Anyway, sounds like you could use a few more episodes of a certain UK series.
Hope things get better soon.

Date: 2006-07-06 07:22 pm (UTC)I'm about halfway through re-watching episodes from the first season of a certain UK series. I might watch some more tonight if I don't veg on fic. Or I might have to watch Pirates of the Caribbean in case I go see the sequel this weekend. Huzzah! Huzzah! *g*

Date: 2006-07-07 02:45 am (UTC)No worries on self-indulgent bitch sessions! I tend to indulge in those myself rather than being productive...
Here's to a fantastic weekend!

Date: 2006-07-07 07:26 pm (UTC)I guess we all have self-indulgent bitch sessions from time to time. I just feel like I bitch more than anything else. I suppose that's one reason LJ came into being: to allow people to bitch. Oh, that and cool icons. Can't forget the icons.
I hope you have a fantastic weekend too! I think I might give into temptation and see Pirates of the Caribbean tonight. I was going to wait and do a matinee in the hopes of beating some of the crowds, but I want to see it tonight dammit! Oh, well, we'll see. Maybe there will be a massive line at the Yonge/Eglinton Silvercity and I'll change my mind.

Date: 2006-07-09 12:36 am (UTC)I decided not to brave the crowds last night (Friday) to catch Pirates of the Caribbean. I am planning to go in half an hour with my mother to the Silvercity in Ancaster. Hopefully, with two threatres showing it, the crowds won't be so bad... Hope you get to see it this weekend!

Date: 2006-07-09 02:44 am (UTC)I did indeed see Pirates last night. It was crowded and I was in serious jeopardy of not finding a seat, but I managed in the end. I was off to the side, but I still had a good view of the screen and the people on either side of me were quiet throughout the film. In case you haven't seen it yet, I won't give anything away. I'll just say that I really enjoyed it. I'd say it was quite different from the first film as it was darker and more violent. However, it still had tons of humour and Johnny was fab. I think my only criticism would be that the film was more action than story. However, it was a lot of fun and very entertaining.
