Vertigo. As far as I know, no one has been stupid enough to do a re-make, though I fear it's only a matter of time. I mean, it happened with Psycho. I'd add my favourite film (Richard Donner's Superman: the Movie) to the list, but I'm afraid there's no one around who seems willing to fly around the world, turn back time, and ensure that Bryan Singer's Superman: Ripped Off never hits the big screen. Oh, well. Such is life.

I would say any Hitchcock movie should not be remade. He was a genius and any attempt to remake his films generally falls flat.

I would like to see some director who could match Hitchcock with new material. I really like his psychological thrillers (and his comedy: The Trouble with Harry). Unfortunately, too many films now go for bloody special effects. I wonder if today's audiences could even appreciate such sophisticated offerings.

Oh, that would be so wonderful! I'm trying to think of the last time I saw a really clever psychological thriller that wasn't directed by Hitchcock. Yes, it would be nice if more films focused on well-written scripts as opposed to special effects. I think there is an audience for such films, though I don't know if they would draw in the kind of box office numbers you get with blockbuster movies.

I haven't seen The Trouble with Harry. It's a Hitchcock film I really need to add to my list. I think I've seen most of them, but I know there are a few that I haven't watched. I tried to get through Frenzy and had to turn it off. Maybe I'll attempt it again some day when I'm feeling a little braver.
