I would just like to extend a huge THANK YOU to blooms84 for not only bidding on my story at qldfloodauction but being so generous as well! Thank you very much, blooms84! :-D
Yay! For writing a fic for the Qld flood auction! Woo-hoo!
The floods are so devastating up there. Unfortunately, the eastern side of Australia is dealing with flooding, whilst the west has bushfires. We sure did piss Mother Nature off somehow.

I'm glad I can do a little something to help. I'm very fond of Australia because of some of the connections I've made there. The first one happened when I was in grade five and had classes with this wonderful Australian exchange teacher who spent a year in Canada. I remember how excited he was to see snow during the winter. We were all really sad when he had to go home. The second connection came with one of my best friends who was born in Melbourne and came to Canada when she was about 12. Then, of course, there's the friendship I've formed with you. :-D
In addition to the fic I've donated, I'm happy to say that I just won a fic myself and was able to donate $10 to Mission Australia. You can find more details here (http://rusty-armour.livejournal.com/79286.html).

I feel bad for the people in Queensland (and other effected areas) every time I see news coverage of the flooding. Unfortunately, it sounds as if there might be more flooding to come. :-( I have to admit that I hadn't realized the western side of Australia was dealing with bushfires. I'm really sorry to hear that. I guess the stories about the flooding has eclipsed the news about the bushfires.
I can't believe I missed the opportunity to force you to write things at my command. Sigh. Life is hard.
Well, there's always your birthday. I'm sure I can be persuaded to write and/or photo essay something for you then. I'd say there will probably be other charity auctions, but I'm really hoping that isn't the case because there have been way too many natural disasters already!
I'm glad from the sounds of it that your slavery...ummm...bid! went to a worthy opponent.
Yes, my master has been treating me very kindly. *g* Actually, I've been having a lot of fun with this charity fic. I was jotting down some notes on the sly before my break because my muse decided to drop in on me.
