I never thought it could happen, but Scotty and Malcolm Reed have successfully found a new beagle for Captain Archer (with a little help from
dubghall, generous friend and evil mastermind)! The epic tale of how Aramis made it here has to be seen to be believed. Fortunately,
dubghall was kind enough to record this momentous event in a collection of revealing photos called
The Voyage Home. You
really need to take a look at these pictures. My own action figure adventures pale
vastly in comparison! *g*
Of course, I had to take some pictures of Archer and his
NEW beagle, Aramis. To set the scene properly, I made sure that Archer opened his Christmas card and present under the Christmas tree.
I'm sure some of you think it was wrong for Archer to open his present early. However, poor Aramis had been stuck in that box for the last few days, though Reed was thoughtful enough to create air-holes.
dubghall also emailed a fairly complicated set of instructions to me, so I wanted to make sure I had access to a computer in order to read these instructions and then check out
The Voyage Home. And, yeah, okay. I was
dying to know what this mysterious package contained! I do plan to save my other Christmas presents
for Christmas.
It's at times like this when I'm amazed at how lucky I am to have such
wonderful friends. I would like to give a heartfelt thank you to
dubghall and all the people who make my life so much happier and richer through one of the best gifts of all: friendship.

Ah, I had wondered if maybe Archer's sadness after the arrival of Kiki might have had something to do with all of this. It was very kind of you to apply Science! and give Archer and Aramis a happy ending! :-D

Date: 2011-12-22 05:37 am (UTC)In the 2009 Star Trek film, it is implied that "Admiral Archer's" prized Beagle was involved in a freak accident when Montgomery Scott used him as a test subject for a transporter experiment. Porthos, however, would have been over 70 years old when Scott was born, therefore it is not at all certain whether or not the beagle in question was Porthos, although it is possible that it has been made possible for dogs to live longer by that time. The novelization of the film has the beagle transported onto the Enterprise.
Unless I'm very much mistaken, Aramis (rather than Porthos) is the beagle used in Scotty's experiment. Fortunately, as you can see, Scotty managed to track down Aramis and return him to his daddy. :-)

Dedication and bravery! I've never taken any action figure photos in a public place, so huge kudos to
